Lots of Uni's are in clearing purely because the cap was removed by the government about how many ABB and AAB above students they are allowed to take on right? I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing :s-smilie:

Does this mean loads of people got rejected? :s-smilie:
Tried to sleep at 11-ish and failed, got an email of my firm that begins by saying, "as a confirmed student at The University of Nottingham..." and now I'm nearly hyperventilating!

Just got my results and I'm in!!!!! any fellow psychologists at Birmingham?
Well I didn't do as well as hoped for in STEP so Nottingham seems to be the likely outcome now

I'm incredibly confused. I've just had a look at clearing on the ucas website, and there's quite a lot of competitive pharmacy courses including those at reputable universities.
The Birmingham admissions tutor told me that he got twelve applicants per place for MPharm last year, so how could the course be on clearing this year? ...

Birmingham was bull****ting? Or under-offered?

Bad A level performances/maybe they didn't give out enough places/overestimated the success rate of people they handed out offers to ?

There's a lot of top uni's in clearing. I've heard Pharmacy is a super competitive course, so there's that. Durham, Manchester, York, Southampton are all in clearing for a fair number of courses too.

With that telegraph article about grades deflating again this year, well I think its safe to assume there was a bit of a bloodbath with the A levels.
