Is my result correct?

AS Film studies- B

60% exam
40% coursework

exam result- 96/120 = 80% A
Coursework result- 63/80= 79% B

So i got 159/200 overall which is 79.5% and shouldn't this be rounded up to 80% which is an A?

or am i being a plonker

Grade boundaries aren't worked out via percentage, but by UMS - you need 160 for an A. You're only 1 UMS off, so it might be worth getting a remark!

First, check the marks you've been given are NOT in UMS (i.e. if your total possible mark is greater than the marks available on the actual exam, it's in UMS.)

Example:

exam result- 96/120 = 80% A

if on the actual exam the max mark is say, 60, then the mark above is in UMS. If not, look below.

Here is the AQA one:

Edexcel:

Not sure about OCR (Sorry)

If those are your results they are almost certainly Ums already.

You are missing 1 ums mark for an A
Your results are given as ums marks.

160 is required for an A and although that's 80% it's worked out by marks rather than percentage. If you want to go by percentages, you need a minimum of 80% for an A; 79.5% is not 80%.

As stated above, the marks you have received are almost certainly already in UMS.
