Yeah, there's a few series I *think* I've watched twice, but might have only rewatched in part. And there's a few, rare cases where I've watched something 3+ times (Cat Soup, and a few of the badly subbed Mazinger movies, as they're always fun to watch with a new group :p:) So I figured I'd only add the shows I've rewatched recently (i.e during or since my Masters), and that I'm pretty confident I've rated accurately.

When exactly I'll find the time to start this great revisiting of all my old favorite series, when I've already got a huge backlog of unwatched stuff to get through, also remains to be seen...

Well, given that my viewing stems decades, it's difficult to determine how accurate my recollection is. However, scanning through my list, I can generally remember whether I've revisited something or not. And, like you, I've revisited anime in part, mainly those that haven't finished yet. For instance, I've actually revisited One Piece up to around episode 250.

I remember one such 'reference' standing out a bit more than the others... likely to do with the fact that Brains-Base produced Spice and Wolf II a couple of seasons before. :giggle:

...and after looking up that clip, I followed the link to the uploader's blog. Seems it inspired him to go travelling with his own Holo cutout. :p:

Was meaning to reply to this as well. All I can say to this is that he's done a really good job with that Holo cutout. :giggle:

Yeah, some of those photos are amazing. :zomg:

I've already had a little trouble with the times watched feature on A-P, though I'll forgive them since it's new. All the shows I marked as watched twice got reset back to once, but I'd only done it for around 20 series as an experiment, so it was easy enough to go back and re-mark them. Doubt I was the only one affected, so reported it in their forum, and if it happens again I'll just wait until they fix it.
I've just done a search for a Manga Society, doesn't seem like there is one. Would anyone join if a Manga Society was created? :holmes:

We've always just talked about manga in this thread as well as anime, since the two are so closely related. :dontknow:

I was referring more to the actual cutout itself, unless that's some official thing he bought?

Ugh, that's annoying. Just checked mine again and my episode count has fortunately remained the same. I'm getting eerily close to the 2 year mark. Well, I'm a few months off, but still!

Nah, apparently he bought it in an online auction. :p:

A-P claim they've fixed the bug in the new feature, so it should be safe to mark shows as watched multiple times now. Luckily though, my second attempt last night also seems to have stayed the same.
Can't wait until I get to university to finally join an anime society! DX
If anyone here goes to university, how big is their anime society (how many ppl)?
Original post by Rothwell
I don't know anyone IRL who watches anime so also somewhat looking forward to it. Rather annoying that it's called 'Student Otaku Society' though, can't say I want to be labelled one.

I know PLENTY of people who watch it irl, however, my mother is one of those people who say animation of any sort = children...

My uni's anime society is only at the other campus :frown: maybe they can expand this year just for me :P
Well, my uni anime society is focusing on the following this semester;

Trigun
Gai Rei Zero
K-On

I have heard of 2/3 of them but Gai Rei Zero I haven't. Although, I haven't watched any of em. =l
Meets every Wednesday for 2 hours (4-6pm) and is hoping to expand to Tuesdays for things like OVAs and movies apparently.

Since this is the first time I am going to uni (5 weeks until teaching starts at my uni), is taking 3-4 hours out of the week a lot and will it affect me greatly?

Not a bad selection IMO - Trigun is a series I heard and saw recommended all the time when I first got into anime, though these days less people seem to have watched the 90s classics. Ga-Rei -Zero- isn't as well known as the others, but personally I think it's awesome, and the first episode is especially memorable. Lastly, K-ON! should provide some variation from the plot and action of the other two. That's the kind of screening I liked to see in my uni's society, a good mix of old and new anime of different genres, and not just the really popular stuff that most fans will have seen already.

Aberystwyth Anime Soc met from 6:30 PM until 9 PM twice a week, though a lot of us showed up at 6 PM to socialise before the screening itself, then went to the pub after until midnight, so it was usually 12 hours out of my week. Didn't affect me at all, I just planned my work around it, even at Masters level. So unless your course is ridiculously intensive, I doubt 4 hours a week will make any difference at all. :nah:

Will anyone like to second my request here?

We already had an anime & manga subforum until earlier this year, but it got removed due to inactivity. :dontknow: Even this one general anime thread isn't moving as quickly as it used to, takes a couple of days to even fill up a page with 20 posts, so personally I just can't see how we could keep an entire subforum active. :s:

Because although this thread isn't that active, I assume other threads related to anime and manga are! The naruto one, for example is! And there are hundreds of manga and anime

Actually, I believe this thread is one of the more active ones... looking at the first page of threads in TV, the only anime-related threads there are this one, and the Identify the Anime competition I made last weekend, which I've bumped constantly (and advertised on Facebook). :s:

While I'm not against the idea of an anime subforum in principle, again I just don't think there's enough active anime fans on TSR to keep it running (or if there are, why don't they post in this thread?!) :p: Can't speak for the admins, but I imagine they'll be reluctant to make a new one so soon after the first one failed. Still, no harm in trying I suppose.

I see. I'll check out your competition when I get the chance. Do you attend any Conventions? I really want to go to Japan to see live readings of anime!
Thoughts on the bleach musical?

I've only ever been to the Telford Expo, though I'd like to go to more. It's just the hassle of getting there that puts me off (I live in rural North Wales, and don't drive).

This is the first I've heard of a Bleach musical... and since I haven't watched the anime/read the manga I can't comment on how well I think it would adapt. Have to say I've heard of much crazier ideas, though. :p:

Fair enough. Is there a Cardiff comic con?
What do you watch/read? Actually-I might update my signature to include my fav anime/manga read/watched and currently reading/watching!

I believe so, but the capital is ridiculously hard to get to from North Wales by public transport - I have to go through Shrewsbury to get there by train, and if I'm crossing the border anyway, might as well go to an expo in the Midlands instead. :p:

I'm watching a lot at the moment - the full list of everything I have on the go is here, though the summarised version would be Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Honey and Clover and eighteen ongoing series, my favourites of which are Attack on Titan, Genshiken Nidaime and Hunter x Hunter. Manga-wise, the same situation. I'm mostly reading After School Nightmare, Letter Bee and Here is Greenwood at the moment, but am collecting a total of twenty series.

Having your favourite series in your sig is a great idea! It could promote discussion about them, or make it easier for people to recommend you similar anime and manga if you'd like. I used to do that... but then my Top 5 became a Top 50, so I thought I'd switch to a list of what I've watched recently instead.
