Wow, that C3 mark certainly does stick out. Reminds me of A level chemistry. I got straight As on all of the written modules and a U in the practical.
My results
C1: 73

516/600 overall.
I started out in set 3 at school doing foundation GCSE maths so I'm real proud of myself. Was rubbish at maths and getting Es in GCSE foundation up until year 11 when I learned that maths was important for science (I loved science) so I worked hard, moved up to top set, everybody in the class made fun of me, jump was a little too much for me, moved back down to set 2, still got an A in GCSE maths, asked to do A level maths, teacher told my mum that I would fail if I tried because I don't have the ability, this one guy who was doing it said it was actually easy and if I put in the work I'll get a good grade, solely based on this I did A level maths, was struggling in the first few weeks and the teacher used that as an excuse to try and kick me out, scraped a B in C1, solid but not amazing and once I got a calculator it was a meteoric rise to the top of the class from there. I seriously do not know how I got so good at maths so fast. I was so awful in GCSE and now university level maths is a doddle for me.

Maths: 577/600 (A)
Further Maths: 483/600 (A)
I'm going to Sheffield for Mechanical Engineering. I'd say that if you can get an A in maths then you'll be able to study a maths-related subject no problem. If you want to study straight maths, however you will have some catching up to do in your first year if you didn't take further maths. My teacher told me that the jump from A-level to degree level in maths is huge. I hope this helps, good luck

You must be one of the most unluckiest people I have ever heard of you need a maximum of 580 UMS to guarantee an A* at Maths A Level and a minimum of 480 UMS.

I'm not sure where you've got that from? As far as I'm aware the conditions for an A* in maths are you need 480 overall with 90% average across C3 and C4.

Yes but suppose someone gets 300 at AS, and 100 in say, s2 (which doesn't contribute to the A*). Then suppose they get 89 in c3 and 90 in c4. They will have got 579/600 total UMS, but didn't average 90 in c3 and c4. Hence, to be 100% sure of the A* in maths, you need 580/600.
