Somehow I logged in university website using ID as username and birth date as password in format of xx/xx/xxxx without slashes (don't know if it works with slashes)
Unfortunately it recognises you as non student.

Hi! I'm studying Ancient History and Classical Archaeology but since my school didn't offer Classics at GCSE or A Level I've never had a single lesson in the subject. How much reading should I try and do to prepare for the course? And does anyone know who I can contact for a suggested reading list? Thanks :smile:

Well now I think lots of people will go, but I am not sure if the talk is just for the rents or if it is for students too....I really doubt you'll miss out on making friends, the talk won't last for the whole day! And I have a feeling a lot of people will actually go because we're all new students so everyone is gonna be in the same boat I presume...

If you want to pay in cash, then you can sign up at the sports fair, or at sports centre reception at any time :h: . If you would like to pay by card (because before you can join a club you need Warwick Sport membership for £49, which is a lot of cash to carry round!), you can pay online on the Warwick Sport website when you have an ITS log in :h:

The Welcome Talk isn't anything special, don't worry :colonhash: . Yes, families do attend, but there's really not much in it for students. As for how long they stay, it can be as long as you want them to :h: . Naturally, socialising will happen in the evening, so if they're away by 6 ish, that's fine :yep:

Well, from what I've heard, they can negotiate another contract, but aren't currently looking to :tongue: . They may well have a better offer from another university (Nottingham has a great new conference facility apparently), so it may occur there under a different name :unsure:

There's a pharmacy on campus in the lower atrium of the SU building. They do deal with all sorts of prescriptions, don't worry :h: . As for transfers, I'm not sure, sorry! :tongue:

SU jobs? Depends. There'll be 4/5 applicants to 1 place, so it's not difficult, nope :smile: . If you have a first aid qualification, you can easily get a first aid job. There were a 2 applicants to 1 place at the last sign up :yep:

You'll generally miss out on the main part of the freshers fair at that time, which is all your free stuff :teeth: . It's generally a waste of time, so I wouldn't bother going :yep: . Socialising tends to happen in the evening rather than during the day (as people do have to come from far away!), so long as you're around your kitchen from about 6 ish, the proper socialising begins around then :yep:

You will need everything :yep:

Due to space constraints, try and bring 1 pan, 1 frying pan, maybe 2 plates and 2 sets of knives and forks etc. etc. The more extravagant cooking items you can probably leave at home (I know of no-one that used a blender for example). Also, the less you take, the more it makes you have to wash up! And if it's washed up, no-one's likely to nick it (which does happen) :yep:

It's more for the parents, yep :h: . It's just a 'Warwick's great, you'll have a great time, these are the opportunities that you can look forward to' type propaganda talk :tongue: . Only about 1/6 of the new students will actually go due to space constraints however :yep:

Hi everyone. I will be studying Chemistry with management this october. I just wanted to ask what events are not included with the freshers passport and whether it is worth buying the platinum card or not.

Thanks for the help! And don't worry I've got an extra L so I think we'll be alright :wink: What accommodation have you applied for? There were 3 Callum's in my year at school so only 2 is a relief :biggrin:

Yay! I was really scared everyone would have A levels and know loads and I'd be completely confused by it all :ashamed2: Thank God I won't be the only non-classicist there :smile:
