From the previous thread.

They were alright, not quite what I was aiming for before my exams, but I'm still satisfied.

I'm so sorry to hear this. You're still welcome to use this thread whenever you want
Are you planning on retaking the year or just a few modules here and there alongside A2s?

Thank you! I'll still feel like a year 13 rather than a year 12.
I'm planning on resitting the year as I think it's easier. My results were DDDU so really not great, though I know people with the same who are resitting modules but I think that would be so hard without the Jan exams!

With all the Maths geniuses here I might end up asking for lots of help

Impressive scores Justin *high five on 100 in C2*. Well done!. I got 78/100 on Econ2 so I just scraped an A haha, OCR were being so harsh this time round.

What are your plans for next year then since you've done quite a number of modules?

Nice results you have there :h:.
Good luck . Have you done your personal statement?
I have a little problem.
What do you put in 'Qualification date' on UCAS? Is it when I take the exam so then May/June?

We all feel emotional now and that we don't feel ready to leave but I have a feeling that a lot of us will actually be thankful to leave after this next year of stress with A2, exams, university places, and UCAS.

I probably should say C1, but I'm way more proud of my biology result. I was convinced I'd get a C in the subject, but got 90% (108/120) in unit 1, 92% (110/120) in unit 2 and 93% (56/60) in the coursework. I never would have ever imagined getting those kind of results at the start of the year so I guess that's why I'm pretty proud of biology, and because biology was my worst science at GCSE, it turned out to be my best subject this year

Not sure if you've been asked before, but what's yours?

Why did you think you'd get a C? Nightmare paper? Good job, anyway, those are definitely results to be proud of! :clap2:

My 96/100 in S1, considering how difficult I found it and how much I hated it. I know it doesn't compare to all the TSR maths geniuses, but I'm most definitely proud of myself.

Good question! I'd probably say my C2 and D1 Maths scores. They weren't outstanding by TSR standards, but after the awful year, so much stress and hard work I put in, to get the grade I wanted was like some sort of miracle. :colondollar:

I'm glad to hear you got the grades you wanted. You definitely deserve it!

lil_Gem, who is bound to turn up sooner later hopefully has gone through what you're going through now, and is off to uni in a few weeks, so she knows what it feels like if you ever need someone to talk to about it and stuff. I don't think she ever had a problem fitting in with the year 12s, but its probably best if she confirms it

Ah okay, I guess its better to start afresh and just work through it again. Haha all the maths geniuses on here will probably be too eager to help you out since most of them (:awesome::rolleyes:) have an unhealthy addiction to it, but I guess its their passion so I can't really say anything there.

Haha fair enough, what modules are you doing this year?
I have to do the dreaded D1  overall C3,C4 and D1 for Maths

Impressive!, especially considering french was in general I heard harsher this year. and I'm pretty sure you can, are you going for the 4As at A-level? I can't handle history so I'm dropping it and picking up additional further maths AS-level. Yup , I'm hoping anywhere from A*AA to A*A*A, economics as an A* would be a miracle haha. and I sure am! What about you?

D1 is easy but boring, right? I'm doing M1 alongside C3 and C4. We've covered the majority of it in physics, so I'm feeling good about it.

Yeah, pretty proud of my French grade! Was quite unexpected, I'd accepted my B, but I just scraped the A  Nope, I've dropped French already, it just took up SO much of my time and it wasn't worth it considering how much I disliked it.

Well, Durham want A*AA, so that's what I'm aiming for, and considering how much I slacked off at the end of last year, I think if I put in the effort I can definitely do it! I bet you'll get the A* in FM too

Additional FM... that's just... so much maths. What modules will you be doing overall, then? Are you going to be sitting M4 as I sit M1?

Ah great! I'll talk to her when she arrives! In a way I'm quite excited and hopefully I'll feel clever as I'm redoing 3 subjects.

That's my thinking. Yeah, I've noticed that, it's quite scary really. Personally I don't understand it .

What subjects are you doing next year?

It sounds it! Maths, Chemistry, Physics and I did French to AS. You?

Which is your favourite subject? And I do biology, psychology, RS, and I'm dropping maths

Well I've got AFM and STEP prep as well to look forward too, I finish in January so maybe some travelling after that or get a job/internship :colone:

Chemistry :awesome: Although I do love all my subjects! Even Physics, despite how horribly difficult it is.

What is it you want to do at uni?

Yup - pretty much D1 in a nutshell. Ah nice M1 is a really fun module! I thought I messed up the exam but edexcel scaled the boundaries nicely .

The same happened with History omg, I was expecting a B and then it turns out to be a higher grade than Economics :colonhash: yet again my most disliked subject comes up higher than one of my most liked subjects xD. Yeah definitely, despite a higher history grade still definitely dropping it otherwise my performance would fall so low and history sucks up so much time it's unbelievable!

Ah cool Durham! I'm probably gonna apply their as well  so I may see you there who knows :holmes:. Exactly  and thank you! I've also opted in for additional further maths to increase the probability of that happening!

Haha well here's what I want to do this year:

Spoiler

M1 is sat a month earlier but I suppose I'd be learning M4 when your learning M1 most likely :colone:

Sorry what are you applying for if I haven't asked  ?

Because I hated it and I tend to do bad in subjects I hate, so I was quite relieved it wasn't the case haha. Thank you

Oh wow, was this the edexcel S1 paper? If so, you should definitely be proud of that! That is a great mark

Ah that's the spirit  yeah, you can be the top of your classes

I'm the same really, there's just too many rules that I really don't care about and I hate it as well, but others don't :dontknow:.

Do you know what you may apply for next year? (Or this year for deferred entry?)

I hated maths so much, I only took it cos my sister said it would be useful  I wanna study Psychology, I find it so interesting! Hbu?
Is it silly to apply to just one university? It's the only place that does my course, and I can't see myself as happy on a course similar somewhere else. I'm just worried because if I don't get the offer, that's it. I wouldn't mind taking gap year as I've considered it many times

Haha, exactly! Which can only be good, right? Need to ace these exams, shame about Jan exams though :frown:

I agree. Tbh, I loved it until this year. Although when I say loved it's nothing like people on here it's more I understood it well!

I'm not entirely sure, for years I was wanting to do Accounting and Finance but now I'm thinking of having a more broad degree and going into it after uni. That way I'm not specialised too early.
At least now I have another year to think! What about you?
