I didn't know that arrangement was possible, I thought modules had to go chronologically! (ie, you couldn't have M3 or 4 or 5 in FM without having M2 in FM as well.)

I did not think so either; so it was a shock on results day. Based on it I don't think Edexcel have any rules governing re-arrangement of the applied modules after Maths is said and done.

This only applies to Maths, ie you can't have S1 M2 as your two applied modules, you must have either two 1 modules or a 1 and 2 of the same thing, but once you get to FM and AFM you can share you applied modules between them however you want.

I've just read people's scores and i'm quite amused. I worked hard this year ( As) and only achieved (which i was still happy about but getting A* overall would be amazing);

C1: 89
C2: 85
S1: 77

You guys scoring 90%+ consistently throughout As and A2, how do you prepare for your exams, i'm thinking it's just natural intelligence but looking forward to your replies

An A* student is just an A grade student who doesn't make little mistakes in their exams. You'll probably find you don't know that much less subject knowledge than an A* student, but an A* student will learn the exam off by heart and then learn to recognize where they make most of their mistakes and how to optimize their time in an exam so they have as much time to check as possible.

Learn the mark schemes and discover what the minimum you have to do to ensure full marks on question is. Don't waffle, as waffling = wasted time and lost marks.

I've done my AS Maths and Further Maths this year, and I think the thing that sets 90%+ students apart from 80% is to try to get inside the head of the exam board.

When looking at a question, just consider what Edexcel/AQA/Wjec might have done to the question to make it that little bit harder (e.g plenty of negative numbers/difficult factorisations etc) and make sure you focus on getting those little things correct. For example there was a question on this years FP1 that cost me 8 UMS just because I multiplied two negative numbers incorrectly! I hadn't focused on the 'tricky part' of the question before I dived in and I paid the price! :redface:

Other than that, just make sure you do all of the past papers and express all your answers clearly for the examiner!
