Will there be some pick up courses for freshers that has not studied the relevant subjects before?　
I am quite afraid that I cannot catch up. :frown:

And if my accommodation does not provide laundry service, where can I get my clothes washed?

Since I do not know how to cook. Shall I go for catered accommodation? Or I should just eat out? catered option seems expensive, it costs me 1000 quid more. Is eating out even cheaper than catered accommodation?

What do you mean, the relevant subjects? The whole of the first year course in any subject will be designed to bring everyone on the course up to the same level of knowledge, no matter where they started from - the uni has been going for many years, they know how to deal with students from all kinds of backgrounds! I took Journalism as an extra subject in 1st year having never studied anything to do with media before and I got 1sts in all my assessments, so it's not a problem.

You should be able to use the laundry room in another nearby accommodation - ask at the reception in your building.

I was self-catering in Taly Court - you'll learn how to cook for yourself over time. Try and practice doing it now - it's not that hard to cook some pasta and sauce! I know a lot of flatmates cook together too. If 'eating out' means going to restaurants, takeaways etc, then no way! You won't have time and it will be too expensive in the long run. I have no idea about the quality of the catered option but I think you only get the evening meal, so you'll have to sort your own breakfast and lunch - if you think that's the better option for you then by all means go ahead.

Yeah that's probably what i'll do. although I think if we try to get together all the people who think like us we might have a great night out!

Yeah that's exactly my opinion! Don't mind it, just would prefer something I consider more fun than getting drunk :L
