AQA M1 - Self teaching

Hello, I am starting to self study mechanics 1 in a few weeks. I don't do physics and am likely to struggle a lot (although I have no choice and have to study M1). I have brought this book:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Advancing-Maths-AQA-Mechanics-2nd/dp/0435513362/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377090175&sr=8-1&keywords=mechanics+1+aqa
And unfortunely do not have any more to buy any other books to help! I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good revision websites to help get me going or revision notes I could use. I already use examsolutions.net but don't find it really helps.
Thanks in advance for your help
Hi,

I can send you some revision notes for any unit you need in maths, there really for Edexcel but can be used for any spec.

If you want them feel free to send me a PM

Goodluck with your studies

Well there's ExamSolutions which is popular, but I can't vouch for. I do like a good book
There's also MyMaths which might help, I don't know
There's also of course TSR, which is a good place to post if you get stuck because talking (OK typing) to another person is quite useful

EDIT:  Didn't read the bit about ExamSolutions not helping. . .

Well I wouldn't write yourself off right from the start

M1 isn't that bad to self-teach, and although there's some variation between different exam boards, most of the M1 content is pretty similar, so if you find revision notes for one board they're likely to be useful for another board too.

Don't worry about not doing Physics - there are just a few key concepts in M1 that you need to pick up, and then it's a case of practise, practise, practise!

Hi Guys thanks a lot! Also another question; I have another module to self study. How should I plan my revision time? (as there are now no January exams) Should I study the two modules and then start doing past papers or should I do one module then do past papers for moving on to the next one. Could someone also give me a time scale of how long it should take me to study M1 and D2? Also baring in mind I have other A2's in school at the same time.
Many thanks

M1 is fairly short, a few weeks work really. As for D2, I haven't really got a clue. . .
I would recommend learning both modules before doing past papers to prevent you getting rusty when exam time comes

Hi

I self taught M1 and it wasn't too bad. I had a lot of trouble trying to imagine "real life" but TSR soon put me right and I think if you have any problems then ask.

As D2 and M1 are so independent of one another have you thought about doing a chapter of one then a chapter of the other then do the revision exercises of the first topic before doing its next chapter?

I think that's a pretty good way of keeping everything fresh rather than having to almost start again at past paper time. But you might have a better memory than me. It's just an idea you might like to think on.

Good luck. Mechanics is lovely.
You don't need more than that, I self studied it and got 95UMS using solely that book.

Oh and past papers, all of them.
