Haha, in contrast i'm fully state schooled - the only one in my family who is, now that i think about it! All my sisters went to boarding school at some point then there's me who just had to walk round the corner  We had a massive range of crazy at my college!
Lancaster was my limit for going south, but i did look at further scottish unis though :') What midland ones did you look at?
It's a shame, Newcastle is pretty brill for nightlife and stuff, or so i'm told - turning 18 during exams isn't great timing

Haha my school wasnt posh, still a state school, just selective :') In sixth form there was a huge range because it was like one of few sixth forms in the area where there were quite a few 7-11 schools :') Lancaster isnt south! hahahah :') I had offers for Birmingham and Warwick  I looked at St Andrews but decided it was too far north/too isolated :')
Yeah I've heard it is, i think thats why so many people i know want to go there :')

What are you reading up on?

Been reading "An Introduction to University Mathematics" - I used it for some FP2 revision, so I've been using it in an attempt to jog my memory a little bit.

It doesn't matter if you get A*A*B you need A*A*A for the scholarships and bursaries. If its a scholarship from the physics department i wish you luck!!!

Riiiighhhttt, it's okay, i won't make fun of you for sounding a bit posh  Nearly everything is south from Newcastle - i've even heard one of my friends say that if you hold a globe "the right way" with newcastle at the top, clearly even scotland is down south  Haha yeah, i had a look at st andrews as well, but they took being a campus uni to a whole new level :')

Well, there is if we'll be covering similar material in our course at Lancs... It's not an FP2 book, it's a general introduction book to uni maths that just happened to have helpful A level bits in

omg that's awful!! i can see why you didn't go with it in the end! and yeah that's a good way to think about it. stick it out and wait till it passes i guess haha :') most of us are in the same boat i'd imagine. thank you! i couldn't speak when i saw them! bewildered! i did it at GCSE and got a B but i couldn''t do it at a-level as it's not the most popular language ever! but now is my chance, so excited. and see i dunno though i will miss my job because of the people i've met there, HOWEVER, i'm a pot washer so my sadness only stretches so far! i've told the manager if she can't find anyone when i get back from holiday, i'll do it for a bit longer until they can trial some more people. bloody dedication i swear :') i hope there's plenty of jobs going in lancaster! i can't imagine there is though it's such a small place! :')

It is quite reassuring knowing that everyone there is going to be in the same position and will all be worrying about making friends, missing our families, being skint- basically all worrying about the same things  Languages aren't that popular anyway, only 2 people in our year did French to A2! Does your degree involve you living in Germany for a year?

Maybe you could get your job back next summer when you come home (unless you don't want to see another unwashed pot ever again  ) Yeah all the jobs will probably go really quickly! I think I might just see how things go in first year, see how busy uni work keeps me and then decide if I have time for a job, then if I do I'll try to get one in second year. I'm going to be so skint, student finance doesn't even cover my accommodation, but if I eat nothing but toast for a year it should be fine
Feel like I'm late to the party here! 13 pages later...
I'm up to do Maths from Bristol, and just paid my deposit on a townhouse at County! I'm looking forward to it!

Offer: ABB (A-levels)

Not much of a gamer except for CoD/Fifa/portal currently, i suck at Battlefield ;P

Hope to see you all there (woo)

I'm doing MSci computer science too

Offer AAB

No idea what accommodation I put as it wasn't my firm so I should have paid more attention haha

yes exactly! :') and i know, it's such a shame! it's literally only a problem we have in england. in america they learn spanish, chinese, french, and in europe, english and i think swedish is mandatory in finland, but we don't put enough effort in. and it does! (well there's a uni in austria - graz) i can't wait till my 3rd year it's going to be brilliant :') and yeah, i'm definitely gonna tell the manager to keep me in mind if they need anybody over the summer (i've already offered christmas time!) pot washers come and go like nothing! always need one :') and yeah i mean accommodation is cheaper here than it would have otherwise been, so i've saved a few pennies there, literally probably only pennies! still skint. :') mine almost doesn't! if i hadnt got my first choice at YSJ i'd be well and truly screwed! but here i applied for the second cheapest and cheapest. everything else left me with hardly any money! my bedroom now i can't even lie down in with my bed and drawers, so i really don't care! :') ah i'm so excited got my freshers guide and "guide to year one" in the post this morning! :')
All aboard the Lancaster train. The Oxford of the Northwest. Can't wait

Hahahaha :') Well apparently I do sound posh according to people here :frown: It's just because I don't have a strong Yorkshire accent like most people here though :') Next to all the southerners at uni I dont expect to sound posh at all! I know it was crazy, although I have a friend who went last year and loved it, just wasnt really for me :')
And forgot to mention, my course is G404 Computer Science if anyone else is doing the same. Seems a popular course.
Course: English Language in the Media (3 years)
Offer: AAB (Reduced to ABB)
Results: AAB (C in General Studies)
College: Either County or Grizedale - I shall be commuting from Blackpool
