Yess a contrasting subject not two.. With competition levels at what they are it would be advised to take maths, especially to aid chemistry and even biology.

No! It's a common myth; have a look here: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki/Medical_Application_Myth_Busting

And chemistry A-Level is fine without A-Level maths, as is biology (you only really need GCSE maths in both). It's only at uni where you really need maths for chemistry.

Are there any ways I convert these into the actual marks I achieved?

This is Edexcel, right?

You can download a converter here: http://www.edexcel.com/i-am-a/student/results/Pages/Convert-your-marks.aspx
7 A*'s, 4 A's and a B... couldn't be much happier

(Well, you could always change that B to an A but meh!)

Would be interesting to see if Oxbridge accepted those kinds of results though :/
I got 3A*'s and 7As  but my school don't want me to do biology A-level as I 'only' got an A!? Apparently statistically I'm not likely to get higher than a D, so annoyed!

They require chemistry and one other laboratory based science subject. Maths and further maths are not accepted as a combination though, so they wouldn't count as separate subjects. Check out our A Level medicine requirements page for more info!
