The most powerful, spine-tingling classical piece of all time?

I am talking about a piece that has oomph and puts shivers down your spine.

Not sure about powerful (I guess the ending is a bit) but for me, definitely spine-tingling, especially all the harmonies.

this is a fantastic new thread. Was hoping to stumble across some amazing pieces on here.

Here are a few classics I can think of:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR2JlDnT2l8 (Good old Lark Ascending)

Then : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQuaUR7nX8U "For the Love of a Princess" Braveheart

Then perhaps my favourite piece of classical music of all time (so far!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCuALWK6ZNg Bach Goldberg Variations - Aria. Sooo relaxing. I adored this piece of music so much that I ended up learning to play it on both the piano and guitar

I also love his Cello suites https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6yuR8efotI - so beautiful

I know, I always listen to it doing the most mundane things like sitting on the train, it makes everything seem much more dramatic.

I sing the first part passionately when the UEFA Champions League's on
I'd recommend Whitacre's 'When David Heard'

There are plenty of versions on the internet, but I think this version by Polyphony is the best
Aww I couldn't say inb4 Einaudi before someone had already posted him (don't worry, I do really like him)

For me, its The Sound of Silence - Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel.

Not sure why but it just gives me the chills

completely agree with that, there is something so moving about it, there is something really eerie about it

edit: actually its also the same with Scarborough fair, I think its just Simon and Garfunkel in general
