Are the student cards posted to us prior to arriving at UoN, or do we have to collect them once we're there?

I believe we have to pick them up when we register for our courses. I did email them asking but I've lost the e-mail! They definitely said we'd have to pick them up anyway, just not sure where!

For catered halls at least, they give them to us when we pick up our keys for our rooms (because we won't know our exact room until we arrive), assuming its the same for self-catered just the difference being you know which room it is.

Yep, in caters they were in an envelope on our desks when we moved in along with a welcome pack and various freebees. I presume it's the same for self-catered, although I'm not sure what would happen for those living independantly.

THANK THE LORD SMILING IS ALLOWED! In all serious photobooth pictures I have taken I end up looking like a Russian assassin!

Haha! I too look like a Russian assassin in photo booth pictures. Submitted a smiley picture for the ID card

I'm assuming you keep the same photo/card for the duration of the course or do you get a new card each year?

It's for the duration. Which can be pretty amusing if you're doing a long degree.

Ooh not good, how much longer do you need it? Then again a fading picture might not be so bad...

Another 4 years, medicine reporting in :ahee: On a side note, if you do lose your student card, you can get a replacement from the security office round the back of Hallward Library. You'll be charged a tenner for the privelige, mind you!

I've had mine a yr another 3 to go  I thought of that though it would just be the same photo. I shouldn't have rushed it, it's not too bad I suppose.
