Lancaster Uni: Official Students 13/14!

Haahah eeeeerm no ahahah i wouldn't really expect things to come out of the washing machine burnt im not sure that its even possible! :') my biggest concern about laundry at uni is that I cant be arsed to wait with it :') ahhaha I'm fab at ironing! my dad pays me to do it ahahah :')
Yeah welll i kinda wanna go so i figure if i stay in a hotel and don't do too much outdoorsy stuff then hoooopefully i can avoid all the bite-y kill-y animals :') hahah well I don't think i had jet lag on the way back either :') probably is though because you can force yourself to stay up later, but you cant force yourself to sleep if you're not tired, so going west and having time go backwards is probably easier! (logic )
Yeah i'm looking forward to having pictures etc that I dont have here! though i have some in frames that ima take as well for the desk

If it makes you feel any more confident, I'm studying German Studies and Linguistics and I haven't done German since GCSE! I think if you are good at it it will all come back to you But that said I kept in practice with German which makes my life a bit easier. Good luck if you take it though Languages are always being neglected! haha :')

Yeah I was thinking of doing linguistics, it seems relevant to the course and I think you can combine English Lang. and Linguistics and do a joint honours after the first year, which seems pretty cool I was thinking of doing a language too, although I was awful at french! Maybe Japanese? I don't even know if Lancaster does it, but I've always fancied learning a new alphabet...

My school had a trip to the uni a few years back (Ironically, i was one of the few people in my class who didn't go ), and my friends still keep telling me how impressive it was - odds are we'll all be happy... if you can trust reviews from early-teenaged boys
Yup, i'm pretty used to being in both kinda big group and tiny ones, and they both have upsides and downsides really - but i think 6-8 is pretty perfect for flats to me!
Yeah, i saw ours a few days ago - it looks like it's gonna be great What sort of stuff is happening at grizedale? All i know is that it's a tradition for you guys to have a hog roast... which is too cool!

It's so strange it seems so far away and yet really close at the same time it's quite scary :s

I went to a different uni last year so already have most things I just need to sort out bedding, they have such silly sized beds at Lancaster

Haha that is quite ironic my school did a trip like that as well but only the localish ones and then you had to choose which one you wanted to visit, I went to Exeter but I don't really remember all that much as it was about four or five years ago.
I think it probably will be a good size as long as most of the flat get along.

Grizedale have quite a few things with county which is strange but I know we have a bar crawl (pub golf) of the campus bars and the next night is a pub crawl around the city, luckily they've scheduled a night in so everyone can recover after those two. We also have the hog roast and white t-shirt party on the first night. Then a casino night but the dress code is quite formal which is scary. I've ordered a dress for it but I'm not sure if it will be too short, although I think it mentioned shot roulette so alcohol is involved so I'm hoping it's not too formal. Then a foam party and uv party. And the best one is the pub quiz, I love them doubt I will ever win one though :P It sounds really good though what is yours like and sorry I pretty much gave you the timetable but everyone of them is worth a mention :P

Hahah, it's fine, just shows you're excited! Anyway, i was gonna tell you all mine anyway We have a toy box/tv character theme night first which i'm really looking forward to, a foam party the next night, then a Tiki/beach party - they were nice enough to put a comedy night in the middle to recover on :') the golf-y campus crawl is after that, followed by the UV rave which should be fun, and the pub quiz(I'm kind of okay at them), and "Rock n Roll Bingo" which sounds interesting Yeah, we have lots of stuff with lonsdale, and i noticed the UV party was County vs. Grizedale - i guess this is where the rivalries begin!

Do you mean the course timetables? If so, yeah, i checked the student portal a couple days ago - mine is... quite nice How about you?

Not anymore, but I think you need it to get into Sugarhouse unless a friend of yours with a purple card makes you their +1

I hear that the sugarhouse is like one of the main places that everyone goes to? Might be worth the investment if that's the case.
