Loved BM6 - just about to start year 2 of BM5. BM5 is harder but it is manageable  - BM6 was just plain awesome :h:
I'm looking to apply to the A102 medicine course at Southampton university and I'm currently studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths for A2 and completed AS Psychology, however the entry requirements reads:
"A level grades BBC including chemistry and biology (or equivalent qualifications). Subjects with material that overlaps (e.g. human biology/ sports studies, mathematics/further mathematics) may not be offered in combination at A level."

Does this mean I'm not eligible to apply to the A102 medicine course?

for general studies and critical thinking it clearly says not accepted but for the above it says may not be offered....

Southampton don't use it for BM6 :nah: you'll need to look into other course requirements though

Hi everyone, I understand how long and stressful the process of applying to medicine can be, as I was a student like you this time last year applying to BM6 (I got accepted). I wanted to say that if anyone has any questions about the whole process of applying to BM6, please feel free to post your questions or PM me and I will try my best to answer your questions. Trust me it's an awesome course...(first day today got to know all my course mates!!!)

Hi! I have got some questions. I am a reapplicant and I want to know if It would be a problem if I use sections of my old personal statement.

Have you applied to BM6 before???
I took a gap year but applied for BM6 the next time round (because my circumstances changed which made me eligible) and honestly I did use parts of my previous personal statement. The best thing to do is to develop it with more effective words, also add anything that you are thinking of taking part in - during the coming year. Let as many people as you can read your personal statement and see if its worth repeating certain parts and remember its quality that matters. I hope that helps!!!

It won't be a problem with regards to plagiarism, but if you applied to BM6 before and didn't get an interview then I would recommend you update and change your PS a lot as it would be the reason you didn't get one

No you cannot apply if you haven't done the UKCAT. They won't use your score (which is where the confusion comes in I guess), but you are absolutely 100% required to take it.

Yes you can apply after a gap year :yep:

I'll be applying to those universities which place heavy emphasis on the UKCAT. So possibly considering St Georges, Kings, Manchester, Hull York, maybe Newcastle...
Also I find that although my personal statement in my opinion is good, but it would be a waste applying here as they don't really look at UKCAT, and also it is VERY competitive.
