I THINK this is a question on volume of revolution but im not sure but if it is then how do do i square this?
y= 3x+1/√x to give y2=.....
The question is the diagram shows the curve with equation y= 3x+1/√x, x>0.
The shaded region is bounded by the curve, the x-axis and the lines x=1 and x=3.
Find the volume of the solid formed when the shaded region is rotated through 4 right angles about the x-axis, giving your answer in the form π(a + ln b) where a and b are integers.
Another question is if it is Volumes of Revolution, where does ln come from in the answer?
