I'm aware it doesn't exactly park itself from germany to uk

No 316i in UK has ever been in Germany. Not in fully assembled form at least.
Come on guys, let him have his car without complaining! - I think it's a decent choice (would have gone for an a-class myself but each to their own and that)

No no, poverty spec is a car where you've gone for the smallest engine they do in the range, to afford it..........

You'll see a lot of printer supplys sales reps in white/gray 316/318 levels of trim around the UK.

You won't see as many in M3's or the higher spec 335's

I am 22
I live in Central London
I have been driving for 3 months total

I sincerely doubt anyone will allow me to insurance a 200BHP plus car for below 5,000

fully comp, me as only driver.

I can't believe this thread is still going. Why do you want to spend 25k on something that you definitely won't be able to insure for a reasonable price? Just keep what you have for a few years until your premiums get somewhere near sensible and then revisit this question.

I don't have a car, it's my sisters yaris she is selling, I will use it until it's sold

and decided on the car, just responding to a few off topic points

but its lower than a 3 series, and pillarless doors
4 series start at £29k.

Besides, I'm calling bull**** now, You've ordered a 318, then looking at diesels and 1 series, now a 4 series.

Come on, it's not big or cool.

ok, if you want the full story;

I ordered a 316i, but dealer misheard me and ordered a 316d

however, there's a big lag of 2-3 weeks between receiving an order and it being processed/being made into production (I presume because people like me change mind last minute? so a waiting period)

hence I was thinking of alternatives before it's actually made/can't change for free

It's scheduled to arrive dec 24th, want me to take a picture when it arrives? I'd be happy to
