So annoying!! What other universities have you applied for/heard back from?

Durham, (Birmigham), Nottingham, Sheffield and Liverpool. In order of preference.
I've had confirmations from all of them, no offers though :frown:. School sent the application through on the 16th

I've applied to study physics at Birmingham. Birmingham was my favourite out of the uni visits I made so I would be over the Moon with an offer from them.

Good luck everyone!

Got the offer from Birmingham in Material Sciences and Technology, although the offer is still not official through UCAS, but only by post mail from admissions tutor saying he will suggest university to make such offer

I've applied to study Physics too (well Physics and Astrophysics specifically but still the same department), I haven't visited it though, what was the department and campus like? And the accommodation if you looked at it?

I visited Birmingham in June and since then I have been to six more unis so my memory is a little fuzzy, but here is what I remember. The main thing I remember from the whole uni was coming away from it thinking this is awesome and that I could see myself being there.

The department was a bit old looking but it's pretty big, and the staff and students were really nice. The lecturer I had a talk with was really inspiring  Are you applying for the 4 year course? Because they said if you do and you don't make A*AA but get AAA instead you are guaranteed a place on the three year course, which I thought was pretty good.

Campus is pretty large, with a very pleasant atmosphere. Lots of social areas (a big green in the centre of the campus next to the clock tower is where a lot of students socialise on sunny days, or so I was told), some green areas (I think there is a lake somewhere) and the various departments make up the campus.

Accommodation was also pretty nice. It's all fairly modern and the top accommodation was amazing, but obviously living there is expensive.

As I mentioned my memory is a little fuzzy but I hope all that information is fairly accurate.

Hope this helped!

Uni nowadays.

'Excuse to chill out, lax and drink all year, eccept the occasional late last-night panic before handing in a paper.''

for most anyways.

oh cool, thanks so much for your help! yeh i'm applying for the 4 year, that's good to know that if you don't get the grades they guarantee a place on the 3 year, I think Sheffield does that too.

I'm also applying to that course, the university was fantastic. I got my offer today (A*AA), and am really happy, as it's my second choice after Oxford.
Well done to everyone getting offers at this uni. Got notified today for an interview here for Medicine - getting closer to that evasive offer. Fingers crossed!

The library is LUSH, as is the department for that matter. It is my first choice and favorite. How about you?
