Anxious about the interview - it basically all boils down to that.

Good luck. I can't remember your stats but I recall that over 80% of applicants are given a 1st interview .
Are you doing relevant work exp in ur gap year?
At least you know that any offers you get will be unconditional!

Yeah I should get an interview (4A*s).

Considering I'm applying for maths, I won't get the luxury of an unconditional from Cambridge!

Think I'll sit all 3

Nice! So you're offer will be conditional based on STEP.
Will you need S,S?

remember though, they take loads of different factors into consideration, so it's not the case that the interview holds a lot more weight than UMS  having said that, I am also ridiculously nervous about interview

What college you applying to as most/all colleges hate people taking gap years who are planning to do maths.

Yes - a high hurdle.

That's correct. I have a high UMS average across all 4, which I guess will help if I get into the pool. I haven't a clue what else I have going for me though

At least your other places should easy enough .
Would you say that S,S is harder than your A*s. Will you get a tutor?

Correct. Made it through 80 STEP I questions so far. However, I've got the MAT next week (for Imperial) which I've been spending time on.

Sounds like you've got it all sorted.

So when they ask what you'll be doing on your gap year, at interview, do you feel that saying you'll be prepping for STEP will be sufficient?

All they care about is that I'm keeping my maths up. So prepping for all 3 STEP papers and the AEA, learning extra modules (statistics mainly), some light undergrad level reading and tutoring A-level maths should do it.

Yep, that's what I mean. Are you doing AFM then?

Not sure yet. My exam board (CCEA) doesn't offer it, so I'd have to see about how I'd get it under MEI or somewhere.
