Creative. Preferably. Again I'm more creative than academic.

FUN. If I get bored I'll quit. I have the attention span of a kitten.

Flexible. I don't do well with rules that aren't flexible.

If people could just give me some ideas because I don't even know where to look?

You want to work a fun job for three days a week which pays 20k but isn't a 'top job'.

You want to have totally flexible fun being creative, but need to make sure you save four days of your week to have fun in other ways. And you want to be paid an above average yearly wage for this.

Unless you have some particular amazing talent, such as being a great artist, then this is the aim:

Makeup and beauty is a massive interest of mine (beyond the "normal level" most girls have, I actually do artistic **** with it and know about different face types/skin types and love making people up). It's a huge hobby I spend a lot of money and time on, and I would love to do something with it.

I've looked into it before but the route seems a bit hazy, they seem to want experience but no one tells you how to get it. I'm going to offer my services for free (makes me sound like a make up *****) to new models photographers and see if it works that way.

Could you do a part-time make up course alongside uni or something? Anything that gets you qualification will help. Gumtree might be a good place to offer free stuff, a friend of mine always goes there for free haircuts haha!

I wouldn't just check Bravissimo. You have to be pro active no matter what you want to work as. Maybe make a list of places? Even just a place like BHS that sells lingerie might hire you (I always get fitted there) b/c you're knowledgeable about it. They might do a grad scheme or something?

Nobody just "gets" experience, even if you just volunteer or join your uni fashion society or whatever it's better than nothing.

I know I already said be proactive but if you just hunt around everywhere you should find some places to practice. Even if you're just doing stuff like go through your directory and contacting low-end beauty salons to ask if you can volunteer for free. It's a bit of a "niche" thing but you should definitely be able to work in it. Regarding stuff like working in clothing stores, you could volunteer for that too? Even if you do so in a charity shop it's still kind of related. I used to work for Monsoon and they only hired me because I'd been with a British Heart Foundation shop for two years before that. :tongue:

You could also do YouTube make up tutorials and start a blog?

Have you considered something like Art Therapy? it involves working with people and being creative at the same time, plus I can imagine it being a very rewarding job.

Also the entry level salaries are around £25,000 - £30,000 a year which is pretty good going, you may have to work 9-5 but I think you'll have to just live with that if you are looking to support yourself :smile:
