Sorry to hear that, you only need one offer at the end of the day!
All the best with your other 3.
Leeds place ALOT of emphasis on the personal statement; from all the UK dental schools, they are probably the ones who take account of it most for selecting interviewees.
They look for:
- genuine reasons for wanting to study dentistry
- long term work experience in a variety of dental settings
- life outside of studying i.e. extra curricular activities
- participation in the community
- working in a caring environment

:colondollar: yeah now i can really see how weak my personal statement was!!! I guess applying for dentistry at the very last minute is not a great idea and was kinda hoping that my grades would be ok enough to at the very least get an interview! I'm probably going to get no offers so i'm just going to prepare for next year with any interviews being a bonus

Thats the thing I don't quite get, my grades are good, and my personal statement is good... Or that is what i have been told. Maybe it was my reference :/ who knows. Who knows what they actually want...

I dont have an interview but i don't have a rejection either. What does this mean?......
It means your track aint been updated. Interviews are all out. Inside information. Leeds only interview the 2 weeks just before Christmas and then thats it. Luck has a massive part in getting these interviews.

Not necessarily, I rang up Leeds earlier today and they said they will be sending out interview invitations till Thursday and if we are unsuccessful track would update tonight. Everyone who was going to get rejected today already have done so, and for those who haven't heard back from them yet - we still have hope!

Hey guys. Does anyone know what the difference between a normal BDS degree, and Leed's MChd/BChD degree?

Which is seen to be better?

thanks

The BDS is the Bachelor of Dental Surgery, while the MChD/BchD is an integration of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery as well as the Bachelor of Dental Health. (Or something very close to that.)
You work with the entire dental team and the course is completely unique and specialised. So, Leeds does have the best course, but the BDS is still just as rewarding and great a course.

I know! It's soo frustrating. It seems like rejections went out yesterday so that's all we have to go on to know that maybe there's still hope. Let me know how it goes for you!

Just got a rejection :frown:
Unlucky bud no words can describe your disappointment bud, but its still not over. For everyone whom hasn't received an interview will be rejected through ucas. Inside track told me this. Please dont shoot the messenger for passing on the message.

Does anyone know what the "Social Awareness" question is in reference to?

"You meet with an examiner to discuss a scenario relating to a patient's background and what issues they may face in accessing dental services and enjoying good oral health".

I'm stuck.
Can anyone tell me whats in that info package you got in the post? I havent gotten it yet because postage to Ireland is so slow...? :/ any help would be great appreciated!

Anyone else have an interview on the afternoon of Friday the 13th :/?! I'm excited for this interview as well as feeling anxious as I want it so so badly!

Yes got to hold my hands up afternoon on the 16th.
Friday 13th interview ain't the one.. Horrible date!
No doubt the later the better as there are loads of people on these forums that won't be able to keep there mouth shut. I experienced that with Manchester interviews.
