I certainly am hoping so! I will read through it all before I get there so may have some of it in short term memory, but I'm not sure I'll be able to do a presentation on something so complex without any notes to hand!

Good luck to you

I'm hoping me can too! Hard enough to get my head around the article without having to memorise it! Hoping it is not going to be as bad as I am expecting! Good luck to you too!

I've been wondering this too. I was assuming we weren't supposed to take notes in, but it would certainly make life simpler if we can!
Hi there,

Does anyone know anything about how reputable Kingston University is in regards to teaching?

Facts would be better than fiction if possible.

Thank you!

I think they interview all the primary and early years together as it is essentially the same course but with different specialisms. I might be wrong though. But if I'm right I will see you there on the 16th. Are you local to Bristol? Any luck with Bath Spa or Wiltshire SCITT yet? I haven't heard from Somerset SCITT yet.

No you're probably right and I'm probably just making up lame excuses as to why they haven't contacted me yet, ha. No haven't heard anything from either of those yet..we shall see. Have you at all? Yeah I live in Bath so aimed for local Unis. How about you? x

I'd just contact the uni to find out, they are usually very friendly and happy to help.

Just make sure you know what makes a good presentation, and are clued up on a few areas of education policy, and you'll be fine if they do spring something on you. If not, then it's good preparation for interview questions anyway. IoE is my 2nd choice at the moment, coming after Kings, but if I like what I see at interview that could all change.

I ended up realising that everything was outlined in the attachment of the email! I had my interview but was very underprepared. They said they'd get back to us within 2 weeks, have you heard from them?
None of my choices have got back to me yet, I'm guessing I won't hear anything until the new year now?

I have a conditional offer from IoE, although what those conditions are I have no idea as the letter still hasn't arrived. Kings haven't replied yet, but they said they would before christmas so I imagine everything should come through soon.

Universities are still open until December 20th. They'll probably be back by the 6th Jan too.
I have all my interview dates now. I am just worried I will not be very good, like last year, even though I have way more experience now and feel I know a lot more. I need to be positive and confident
Anyone heard from University of Birmingham? Specifically, PGCE Primary?

I've got both of mine booked in for January! I'm most worried about the article! Do we have to just talk about it? The word present is making me worry incase me are meant to do more than just talk about it. Do you think we can take in notes to help us?

I read on the website that they ask us follow up questions based on our answers so I'm hoping that happens! All I have is a sheet with advantages and disadvantages on, I'm hoping to just talk more about those. Have you had much classroom experience? I don't think they'd let us take notes in :-( what time do you think we'll be finished? Can't wait till it's over and I can calm down!
Congrats to all those with offers

For those who got conditional offers, how long after your offer do you have to pass your skills tests? For example IoE gives you 6 weeks if I am not mistaken.

Let me know.
Thanks

Well it says there will be no power point resources available but it doesn't specifically say no notes haha so I am going to take some along and if I can take them in great if not it's not too bad! I did a Childhood Studies degree so did lots of work experience as part of that and have also worked since February as a Teaching Assistant in a Reception class so have got a fair bit of experience. How about you? Well there are afternoon interviews too so I am presuming it won't go on much past lunch time! I hope it isn't too long before we find out either, but with it being Christmas I can imagine the wait is going to be a while, I'm so inpatient too!!

I was thinking the same, it is a lot to remember from memory! I am going to take some notes along and if I am able to use them that'll be great! Good luck to you too!!

Hello...

Could anybody give me a general overview of the main changes that will be made to the national curriculum for primary in 2014? And briefly explain why are these changes being made?

Thanks so much
