Oh yeah, I see the similarities :yep:

It's hard keeping a balance between speaking and writing. How do people fit numerous tones in a sentence... Especially when they speak so fast.

Haha Wait till you hear Cantonese.

I'm too cow?

Honestly, don'r expect to learn everything overnight. Mandarin is so counter intuative to English speakers, so it's gonna be hard

Well apparently it's colloquial and slang... That's the literal meaning but apparently it means "you rock" or "you're so awesome".

That's what the videos said anyway...

Fish loves counter-intuitive things in language :ahee:

I'm hopefully getting a few language books (Mandarin/Russian/Norwegian possibly) for Christmas

I'm looking into getting that Mandarin book (also possibly "Easy Peasy Chinese").

Unfortunately I don't know for certain of any good Russian books, I haven't used any yet. There seem to be a few on Amazon with good reviews, although the most popular are quite old (like 20 years) so may not cover everything one would like for modern usage. If you find anything, PM me
