Has anyone got an interview coming up at Oxford Brookes University for Primary PGCE?

I had one arranged but I've since chosen not to go. Good luck!

Hi, I have my interview for bishop grosseteste next Friday in the morning. Is anyone else there too? I'm really worried about the presentation, I think it's so vague.. Teach on something you feel confident in? Is that teaching a subject like literacy or numeracy or a talking about an issue in the classroom?
Soo nervous not enough time to prepare!!! X

Hi, I have mine this Friday and I totally agree with you that the info given is so vague! I've decided to teach something maths related as thats what I've applied to specialise in. I thought we'd get some more info sent to us but haven't received anything. I think they just want to see our ability to teach x

Yeah same! I think we are probably drained. I was up quite late last night preparing too. Mine is for Primary at St. Mary's in Twickenham. What about yours? Good luck for it - let's hope we find some energy from somewhere! X

Seems to be really popular there, I keep hearing the name! Mine is at Cumbria Uni. It's 10-4.30 but until 1pm it's just talks on the skills tests and course and stuff. I sort of wish we could just go and get it over with rather than sitting listening to stuff I've read about, but oh well! Might calm my nerves.

Let us know how you get on tomorrow

It's pretty strange, I have friends who are at BishopGro PGCE at the moment and last year their presentation was on a class they had been in that was 'particularly effective'.. That would be perfect, but this..? I don't know whether we are meant to act as if we are teaching a subject to adults, or KS1s?? I'm dreading it, more so than the individual interview.
Well good luck and please let me know how you get on ) xxx

I know! Mine is 9.30am - 4pm - seems so long especially as the 1-1 interview is right at the end of the day lol.

I think St. Mary's has a good reputation as both their Primary and Secondary have been given outstanding by Ofsted.

Which means I probably don't have a hope in hell of getting on a course, but I will try my best!

I will let you know - let me know how you get on too x

Thank you I will I've looked at other universities that have asked for the same thing and the feedback from them all seemed to be that they just wanted to look at your teaching ability so I guess we teach the audience we have. xx
Got my interview at University of Manchester on Friday, I've never been so nervous in my whole life! I feel physically sick, can't wait for it to be done with, hopefully with a positive result.

Bit of a long shot but if Sarah from the Chichester interview yesterday sees this did you get it?!

Good luck everyone still with interviews - do not worry - they do make you feel really relaxed and it's quite informal. For Primary languages we had a casual chat in Spanish then a group exercise saying how you would teach with 2 leaves but we had the curriculum in front of us and for most objects you can come up with ideas for all subjects x

Rejected without interview from everywhere I applied, feel pretty crappy right now, not sure if it's even worth applying for apply 2.
Anyone got an interview for Primary PGCE for Glos Uni this Saturday? Or any tips?

I'm not doing my curriculum or school related at all. I think they are just looking for being able to stand up and speak to people too. It is vague but I guess it's a way to show what you're really interested in too. I've had interviews and where everyone is doing pretty much the same thing it gets boring. Good luck! What have you applied for? Mines next Thursday I've applied for upper primary.

I'm very sorry to hear that! Did you get any feedback from any of the providers?

I've applied for Primary with Maths specialism which is why I'm thinking of teaching a maths game as that's what I'm interested in. I could have taught Welsh but I didn't want to over complicate things  Good luck with yours

That sounds good! I think this is one of the hardest ones I've got. Where else have you applied?
