It depends on where you live in Istanbul. It was fine to me, I was living in Smyrna before that.

If you live in Istanbul, you need to relatively close to where you work, otherwise life is hell, spent on sweaty minibuses.

Really Thats soo awesome!!! great minds think alike i always say :wink:what exam boards did you do for them xD i don't have any Turkish people in my class doing biology, chemistry and psychology:frown: i applied for biological sciences and biology at university, i was thinking of picking chemistry at degree level before because i generally get higher grades in chemistry and i find it as equally interesting as biology but i don't have a level maths and at degree level it gets more mathematically rigorous so i decided to pick biology. so what are you currently studying and what university did you go to?

Um.. I think it was Edexcel for Bio, AQA for Psychology and OCR for Chem though not too sure
I did Biomed at QMUL, doing Immunology at Kings now.

The maths for Chemistry isn't like A level maths, it's just more new equations from chemistry like Beer Laws etc. Usually if someone asks, Chem or Bio, I tell them, if you're good at Chem, do that because the job prospects are better, but the good thing about Bio is you can specialise in all sorts of things so you can easily find yourself doing something like Pharmacology again.

Istanbul is great to visit. But not to live. Even people who live there, say the same thing to me.

Why is this? Lack of jobs? Surely it can't be because it's more expensive than London

Less jobs. Lower wages. Overcrowded. Takes forever to get anywhere. Cheaper than London, but only ever so slightly. Turkey as a whole is less organised and doesn't have anywhere the level of institutional capacity, that Europe/North America has.

People look at Istanbul and think "Oh wow, I'd love to live there! It looks amazing" bla bla. But the reality of living there day-to-day is very different. Try it, and see.

Oh and Turkish companies..tam bir rezalet. US/UK firms are galaxies ahead in every respect.

wow, you are very intelligent!! what made you change from biomed to immunology and i applied for kings and qmul which university do you recommend i go to, atm i really want to go kings because in terms of high universities i have a better chance of going there as they are more inclusive they look to see if anyone in your family has been to uni before and which school you went to, is it a failing school etc. (thats what my bio teach said), i am doing psych aqa a as well is it ok if i ask you for any advice for this? but i am doing diff boards for chem and bio, i still really like chem, but after looking at the physical and inorganic chem books, i am just shocked at the level of maths, my chem teachers said that chem has a s**t load of a level type maths and maths from physics as well:frown: but bio is what i am more capable of doing at uni, if i ever want to change to biochem or chem can i do that through clearing?

There is a lack of infrastructure in Turkey quite generally relative to most of Europe, especially for any higher skilled work so yes. And it's about the same as London, Miklgadr is far better suited as a sight seeing getaway in truth.

I didn't change, I'm doing my Masters now

Well Kings is higher ranking so I'd say Kings as first choice. I prefer the student atmosphere at QMUL far more though.

i am doing psych aqa a as well is it ok if i ask you for any advice for this?

Don't remember much except for the teacher making a girl cry for wanting to borrow a chair for the teacher in the other class

It's really competitive to change course for a london uni these days. I'd stick with what you've got

OHHH loool my bad  i dont know much about iimmunology except at the basic a level so i am just going to ask, what is your favorite cell of the immune system

Yep qmul is also an amazing uni, but i'll probably get rejected by queens mary :frown: but i'll defo put kings as first choice aha

Don't remember much except for the teacher making a girl cry for wanting to borrow a chair for the teacher in the other class

argh ok lool, i was going to ask how you revised for it, how you managed to remember so much information, i find it hard to remember so many studies :frown:

Ok  but i can always change course if i get into uni right? provided that they have enough space, one of my teach said that a lot of people in her uni switched as soon as possible once they got it. xD but tbh i am finding bio really interestiing but who knows.. xD anything can happen

Of course you wouldn't understand :proud:
