I hope so. Obviously I want to see what happens with Trent before making an absolute decision....plus I can't see a way to accept at the moment. I think I'm just becoming paranoid now!! Lol

I wish i hadnt haha...but its secondary school....so those kids have a bit more attitude!
Both skills tests passed today! As someone who got 2 out of 12 on my first attempt at the mental arithmetic, I can honestly say that a bit of practise goes a long way, and I found the real tests much easier than the online mocks. I just about scraped a B at GCSE by the skin of my teeth, and as I want to teach English I naturally haven't thought about maths ever since. If I can pass, anyone can.

Hi there, I had my primary interview for Cambridge last week and I got an offer yesterday! Don't be scared, the interviewers are so nice there and the day runs exactly the way they tell you in the welcome letter! I have accepted my offer but I was at one other interview before Cambridge and it wasn't half as nice a process! If you want to know anything (non-specific of course) let me know

Hey, I also had my Cambridge interview last week, and got an offer the other day. I saw in a later post that you said you were from Ireland, so I think we were possibly in the same interview group? I was the girl in the bright pink top. I'm still waiting to hear back from Worcester university about an offer....not sure whether I'd accept the Cambridge offer or Worcester if I got one from them too.

Hello  I was wondering if anybody else on here was the same interview as me but seeing as there was only 8 of us I thought not! I remember you, you're doing your masters at the moment right? I accepted mine as I wasn't very impressed with the interview process in the first university I went to and I really did love Cambridge! I thought the faculty and the staff were really nice and everyone in our group was lovely, it seems like it's a really nice environment to do your PGCE in  also, on a side note, it saves me making another trip over when I'm so busy in college right now. How do you feel your Worcester interview went? When will you find out? Do you any gut feeling about which one you'd choose?

It's nice to know that a couple of us at least got offers from Cambridge  I seem to remember you doing very well in our group task! I thought Cambridge was really lovely too, and I know I'd enjoy it if I choose it. Yep, I'm doing my Masters currently. Do you know what happens about finding out about whether we got into a Cambridge college? I think the Worcester interview went well, and should find out at the beginning of next week. It was also a lovely friendly uni, in a nice place. Main difference for me is that it is a Maths Specialist course, so the content is different, and the bursary is higher. I really don't know which I'd pick. I'm sort of hoping they don't give me an offer, just to save me from having to choose, and then I'd accept Cambridge.

Ya, it's really nice...do you know of any others who got an offer from our group? I don't know about that now but at least they liked me enough to offer me a place...I did quite like how few of us were at the interview, it suits me better than a really large group. What are you doing for your masters actually? No, I don't actually, I'm going to wait to see what it says when I receive my letter (which could be a bit delayed as it has to make its way over water), where did you apply to actually? Awh, that's goo, I'm glad it went well for you  but I know what you mean, sometimes it's nearly better if you don't have too much choice as it often just confuses the situation! At least you'll know by next week though:smile:

No, I don't know if anyone else from our group got offers. I hope they did though! I'm doing a Masters in Music (mainly focused on Music Psychology research). I applied to Queens and Jesus college, though I now wish I'd maybe chosen some that were slightly closer to the education faculty. Are you planning on living in college halls or renting privately? Yep, next week will decide all!
Is there a group for IOE people for next year? Just got my offer email through today

Can a place retract an offer?

I got an offer on 10th January and they contacted me yesterday asking if I intend to accept the place. I honesty don't know and I'm waiting for my other interviews so what's the best thing to say without messing up the offer?

During my interview they did say they would prefer if I get in touch soon otherwise the place could be accepted by someone else.... can that happen?

I've just got a voice messages asking to ring them and I'm sure it'll be whether or not I am accepting the offer...

Help, please!!!!

Yes, me too, everyone seemed so lovely! Oooh, very interesting, that's a fascinating are...did you do music or psychology for your undergrad? I tried to find Jesus but I got lost, I was going to put it down but decided against it, purely on the illogical reason of not being able to find it! I've put down Darwin and Homerton but slightly regretting Homerton as there's no accommodation as such for PGCE students. I guess right now I'd say college halls but nearer the time if there were a few people considering renting privately I wouldn't be opposed to that. What are your thoughts?

Well done! Don't want to hijack the thread with skills test talk but I thought I'd ask how you practiced since your method seems effective

I did music for my undergrad. Oh dear, I hope I'll be able to locate Jesus if I do go to Cambridge, or I may have a problem, hehe! At least Homerton is right next to where we'd be taught though, so no long treks through Cambridge! I'm hoping to privately rent a place with my boyfriend (assuming he can find a job in whatever area I end up)...but if it ends up just being me then I guess it depends whether the colleges have available accommodation or not.

Not that I know of, maybe you can create one for us?

That'll be a great for you when you start teaching! Haha, I'm sure it was easy to find really, I'm just not the greatest geographer ever, plus it was dark so that added to my lack of drive to find it! That would be lovely, the support would be great during such a tough year! Right, I am currently procrastinating and distracting myself from an array of lovely essays so I had better get back to it! It was great talking to you...please, please let me know what you decide next week

I too have been distracting myself from an essay, so need to continue with that too. Have fun with your essays! I'll definitely let you know what my decision is when I know  It would be nice to already know someone on a course I'd be doing!
