I can only think of one 'messed up' song and that was Dance with the Devil, I actually don't mind Immortal Technique

i dont really like rap no more
it corrupts me ._. ;[
Loads of stuff Lowkey, Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks do is wacky conspiratarded nonsense. Honestly the stuff about guns, bitches and bling is less socially damaging that the "real" stuff

EDIT: Public Enemy are good though

The problem with political/Consious rap is that it gets boring to listen to

Current Rap, i don't really enjoy tbh, i find myself solely listening to 80/90's hip hop which had a mixture of topics. Political (common/mos def, talib),Positivity and afrocentricity (most of the native tongues), G-funk (West coast), Gangsta Rap, Jazz rap (eric b and Rakim/Pete rock and cl smooth) soul Rap. Etc

Now the majority of the rap mumble about the same topics over the same beats.

The sound of the 80/90's rap music sounds so different to current hip hop, its like a whole different Genre.
Its sad when people link rap music with being a thug or gangsta.

Sad that music like this won't ever return

I'm coming from the opposite direction I guess. For me, endless rapping about how much money and how many cars a rapper has, or how tough he is or how many women he's had, has got boring for me long ago, even when the rapping skill is good and the music is good. I want to hear something about the real world.

I hear what you say about the earlier period of Hip-Hop, I'm something of a Big Daddy Kane fan as it happens.
