I highly doubt most people even understand the scientific theory behind it. Do you? Furthermore, if someone was going to instigate a hoax on such an epic scale, you'd expect the 'scientifically ridiculous' nature of it to have been thoroughly ruled out. No?

Let's be honest, if I was a structural engineer, I could post a detailed but bogus theory as for why the towers shouldn't have fallen and people such as yourself would suck it up as fact because it's what you want to believe.

Well, I can't see the strange attire and beard on my phone but I fully expect those things to be entirely indicative of whatever he goes on to say.

The 9/11 conspiracy theories are all nonsense, just like almost all other conspiracy theories. As Heliosphan said above, most people who believe in the conspiracy theories believe it because they want to believe it, while they ignore any evidence they don't like. Confirmation bias at its finest.

Add it to the pantheon of conspiracy theories, of which many can sound very convincing. But that is all it is at the end of the day. Don't be sucked in to a pitched, persuasive argument. There comes a point when you need to have faith in the general conclusions that were exhaustively investigated. To believe the U.S. government would mass murder 3000 people in its own country and destroy two iconic New York buildings would make them all insane. If they were that deranged they would not be able to hold down a job. It has all the hallmarks of a terrorist Al Queda attack.

It is more plausible that the poster was just just added scenery. You're making a mountain out of a molehill, it seems.

And presuming that this does indeed predict 9/11, why? For what reason would someone put something like this in a cartoon? What kind of secret, elite organisation would leave 'clues' to their master plan like some amateur villain from Scooby Doo?

Best response I've seen on this. You've also got to factor in that a lot of Socialist leaning individuals just want any excuse to damn America/Israel because for their political grouping its highly fashionable and furthers their 'anti-Western capitalist' agendas. Hence, most of the conspiracy theories centre around the government being to blame or some kind of actor which would purport the general theories they adhere to about a wide range of other things.

Also, another thing that most people ignore is that personally speaking I'm not at all comfortable with the blasé and crude nature of these postings and discussions. I find it highly disrespectful to the victims of this horrendous crime, and I think it really shows someone's personality if they are more interested in a stupid conspiracy plot than focusing on the real human costs of the event.

For how long should we focus on the human costs? I'm not condoning the attacks but it does seem a tad hypocritical when the US absolves itself of its' own crimes. For example: the Bhopal disaster in India with 30,000 lives lost and an average compensation of a few hunderd dollars per victim and with NO prosecutions of a US citizen whatsoever.

But then bleeds others dry with both prosecutions and tens of billions in compensation (as in the BP oil spill) for a few fish and the sake of tourism.

The USA is the target of conspiracy and much hatred exactly because it seems the US elite and government are only concerned with protecting themselves.

The innocent victims are the ones on BOTH side who are caught in the crossfire.

I don't know if you are familiar with Realism but basically, it's pretty well supported in academia that all countries are entirely (when you go past a thin outer façade) interested in perpetuating their own existence through any means possible and are completely self interested to the core.

It just so happens that at the moment and for the last several decades (although changing slowly) , the USA has effectively been the global hegemon of the international system and thus wields far more power than most other countries combined, and thus can get away with these so-called injustices on a global scale.

However, put any other country on earth in the same position of power and in no time it would be acting in exactly the same structural way to achieve its aims whatever they may be. The US government isn't just made up of immoral people, its the power which corrupts and always has done throughout human history.

When China takes the lead comprehensively, all your classic hippies with their conspiracies will be firing them in their direction instead, unless it doesn't suit their agenda. (e.g. not trendy to oppose an agent which isn't Western based).
