We need to talk about dominant/submissive fetishes in porn.

Rape culture is massive problem within society and porn which portrays men as dominant sexually does much to perpetuate this. Dominant/submissive fetishes such as BDSM blend sexuality with power and rape is expression of sexuality as power. Allowing young children easy access to this material internalizes dominance of male sexuality and the affiliation with sex and power - aka rape. I propose that pornography displaying these rapey themes should be banned from the internet and distributing it should be a crime. If people really want access to this material then they should have to go to a special shop where you must be over 21 to purchase this material, to prevent children being exposed to rape culture.

There isn't a bloody "rape culture". Some people rape, which is an awful crime, just as some people murder and steal. Do we have a "murder culture"? Of course not. Moreover, porn does not incite rape. That's akin to saying boxing promotes domestic violence and GTA promotes murder.

Just to re-iterate, there is no such thing as a rape culture and it is disgusting of you to suggest there is.

The mere fact for example that almost all porn videos end with guy jizzing on the girls face is testimony to how animalistic humans are. A lion pack leader would piss and **** to mark his territory and show what is his, the guy uses his jizz in porn. It's a quite clear message of dominance and possession.

Also to build on what others have said, women can be the dominant ones in BDSM. I don't see what Op is getting at considering there is so much wrong with it.
It's porn for crying out loud. If people can't tell the difference between that and reality then wow. Also, have you got statistics proving there's a link between young boys watching rough porn and the increased risk of them raping women?

I'm not against women being the dominant party as women are oppressed in society and this would be promoting a positive image.

Feminists like this are always amusing. We've admitted making bears dance at the circus is wrong, but god damn this is a hell of a good replacement.
It might affect SOME people, but it isn't widespread. I'm more concerned about the fact that dominant/submissive fetishes are problematic from a philosophical point of view as they degrade the person watching them by indulging their desires that could be managed otherwise.

Women are not oppressed in (western) society. I doubt you could give any example of proper oppression that haven't already been debunked.
I appreciate what the OP is saying and can completely understand it.

However, I don't actually have an issue with porn itself and I don't like how in society it is viewed as a 'dirty' thing. Anybody over the legal age should be able to view porn (including BDSM) as long as it legal (i.e there are no underage participants and or are rape scenes). Although, I do agree with the OP in the senesce of saying that porn quite often gives an unrealistic portrayal of sex and there should be better protection in place to make sure that those underage do not have access to such images.
