Audi A3 or Mercedes A class?

Audi A3 or Mercedes A180?
I just wanted peoples opinions on what car they'd choose out of these two and why?

I thought the Mercedes has a nicer appearance, also the interior looks much more advanced compared to the Audi and the fact that it has Sports seats and the car value doesn't seem to drop as fast A3.
On the other hand the A3 has more MPG, feels more comfortable to drive in compared to the A class and its much quieter to drive in.

Generally more powerful than the Merc.
Cheaper to buy, run and dispose.
Good fuel consumption.
Less harsh ride.
Cons:
Not many standard options.
Options can add a big increase to the price.
Generic looking and feels like an upscale VW Golf.
Some cheap looking bits.
Discounts kind of hard to come by.
Mercedes
Pros:
Futuristic and unique styling.
Refined finishing.
Exclusivity.
Lots of standard options and options don't cost as much as one would think.
Fairly easy to get good financing and offers.
Cons:
Expensive to buy. Servicing won't be cheap.
Harsh ride especially those with the sports suspension.
Fuel consumption not that fantastic.
Most likely will be asked if it is mum's car
Probably won't buy either of it.
Prefer an Alfa Romeo Giulietta for a fun car to drive, a Renault Megane RS for outright performance and a Volvo V40 for a nice everyday car.

Veryyyyyy helpful thanks, I wouldn't be able to get the Alfa nor the Megane because their insurance group is way too high for me especially the Alfa standing on group 21 :O

Merc, the A3 is just a Golf.
Neither. Get a BMW 1 Series. Easily the best car out of the three. Don't bother with the A Class because they're hideously overpriced. If you're not into the snobbery of BMW like I am then get the Audi.
EDIT: Forgot about the Golf. A very very good car. If it were me I'd be picking between the BMW and the VW Golf.
