Has anyone used tutoring for the skills test? if so were they a good idea?

Hi! I've accepted an offer from the University of Birmingham for the PGDipEd Secondary Mathematics course. Just wondered if anyone knew if there was a facebook group already or not?

Hi, I've just accepted an offer for the PGDipEd General Primary at Birmingham, but I've not been able to find any facebook groups yet. They have some from the previous year, so I imagine something will come up at some point. I just want it up so that I can look for a flat share.
Hi :-)
If you were looking for voluntary experience from within a school, how would you contact the school??
Thanks :-D

I was going to but I purchased numeracy ready for the maths for £19.99 and it worked perfectly!

I like to call in in person if it's practical to do so, as then you get to speak to someone straight away, even if you have to come back another time to talk to the appropriate person. If not then I would phone. Emails are likely to get marked as low priority amongst many others and may be accidentally forgotten etc. So it's easier to actually speak to someone.

You would look best to write a letter, take it in and ask the receptionist if you can see the head teacher. If the head teacher isn't around then leave the letter for him/her.

Alternatively, write a letter and post it FAO the head teachers name including your details.

Hi all! This is my first post on TSR in about 5 years, how exciting!

I've been reading this thread for a while. I have applied for both PGCE Primary Specialist Maths and General Primary at IOE. Has anyone else on here applied for the Specialist Maths route?

I only sent off my application last week so I know I left it quite late in the year. Can anyone who has applied to IOE tell me how long they've had to wait until they've heard anything?

Thanks and good luck everyone! x

It's not a long piece of writing, no. It has different sections focusing on different aspects of literacy. It didn't take too long but was definitely more formal than the trent one.

I've been looking for one but not found it yet, you could always make one if you're wanting to look for houses? I'm sure there's plenty of people on this thread for Primary at UoB.
