I know this might be a stupid question but is accommodation a first come first serve basis? Just because I can't firm Northumbria until I hear back from another uni which could be in May. Just worried I'd get stuck in crap accommodation :/

Im in my 2nd year @ Northumbria and thought I'd shed some light on what to expect from the halls in September. Basically I was too fussy when choosing accommodation and ended up in Knoll Court ... The flat was nice and my room was huge but from a social side it was ****. Flats of 4 are way less sociable than flats with say 5,6 or 8. Yeah so I'd recommend Manor Bank, Quay Point (Or Liberty whatever the **** its called now), Camden Court, Portland Green are all nice en-suites and very lively and sociable. Stephenson & Glenamara are quite old and have shared bathroom but are cheaper & again pretty lively. Avoid Vic Hall, Knoll Court, Clapham & Lovaine. Claude Gibb is very sociable and right on campus but its a bit of a dive, Winn Studios is a complete rip off, nice flats but really boring. Trinity Square looks ace but its in Gateshead so location isnt perfect. From my experience & if money is no issue I'd go 1. Quay Point (As it has the most parties) 2. Manor Bank 3. Portland 4. Camden 5. Trinity ... Hope this is helpful to some of you, halls are **** anyway just make sure you make enough decent friends to live with in 2nd year when it will be all about Jesmond!

Vic Hall is very nice, but pretty quiet. New Bridge is decent

Quantity surveying is 300 UCAS points so probably could cut it with three B's!

A = 120, B = 100, C = 80 and D = 60 UCAS Points.

Hey, I am most prob putting Northumbria as First choice, and looking at accomodation at the moment.

I will be studying Architecture, and am a 'Mature' Student (In age, not always mentality!)

Thinking I would like the best of both worlds, Somewhere nice to live, not too lively or too quiet?

I have looked at Victoria Hall and New bridge, New bridge is taking my 1st place currently due to the double bed!

Anyone recommend anywhere else, must be en-suite!

hell yeah , i am from malaysia and i just finish my diploma in quantity surveying and meet the requirement so i am going to take the intake in this september ! hope to see you there
