So I've been here a lot doing my research on social norms and stuff and I'm still very confused on the topic of slut shaming.

Sooo help me out guys with this question

If a slut is defined as someone who uses sex to get what they want.

What are the issues with that, whats the problem? Why is it so wrong.

Thanks

Why?
because shes using sex to get things. so exposing her would warn men about it.

You don't know why manipulating and using people is wrong?

Thats a good point..

What about girls that let the guys know that they are just in it for sex, no relationships...why are they still called sluts then?

Its wrong, yea, but everybody uses everybody if you think about it, and in a case like that both parties are gaining, i mean its not like she's forcing the man to have sex with her.

She's gaining sex too.....

Or are you insinuating she's prostituting herself for ulterior motive?

The problem is that I'm not sure whether being a slut means being promiscuous or cheating on your boyfriend, I've seen both be called sluts. If it's the former then I disagree with slut-shaming, if it's the latter then I agree with it.

if she lets them know she just wants sex then she is a slut for simply only wanting sex. its honest which is good but its still whorish and ofcourse men doing same thing will be called players which is correct because men are more pre-disposed to sleeping around then women so these 2 terms rightly reflect this.

This is the scenario that happened to a girl in my high school. She was hot but un interested in relationships, but if she liked a person she would have sex with them because that was all see was okay with. and people called her a slut and bullied her and ****, i was always wondering why, its not like anyone was getting hurt

A slut is a woman who gives sex away fairly readily. Not really a woman that uses sex to get what they want.

Dislike of sexually promiscuous behaviour is really evolutionary.

Woman generally have used sex to get what they want. Therefore, they dislike promiscuous women who effectively nullify that.

Men only like it because they benefit it from it. Outside of that, they dislike it because adultery undermines them.

Today, I am not really sure there is really a big problem with sexual promiscuity other than the obvious health risks.
