The best non UK universities for FINANCE are:
1. Università Bocconi (Italy)
2. Copenhagen Business School (Denmark)
3. Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands)
I'd stop with that.

HEC > the rest

HEC is more specialised in the management field. If you look at the international rankings for 'Accounting and Finance' the first non UK university is Bocconi. In 'Economics and Econometrics' is Bocconi again and in 'Management' HEC wins.

HEC is better than Bocconi in Accounting, Finance and Economics. Rankings are useless, trust me.

Whatever. I do think Bocconi is better.

So by your methodology, I am guessing Bocconi is better than a school like LSE too as it ranks pretty poorly on most rankings?

No. The user was asking for non UK universities. If you want to work in IB, what better choice than LSE obviously?
Efinancialcareers.com has made a survey. Check it out : http://news.efinancialcareers.com/us-en/145537/the-best-universities-for-jobs-in-trading-ma-and-risk/
According to the survey (which is a fact), in Trading, M&A and Risk, Bocconi comes before HEC. Obviously LSE is the first in everything. It's not a ranking, it's a survey.
Then, look at the ranking by QS World University Rankings ( http://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/university-subject-rankings/2014/accounting#sorting=rank+region=140+country=+faculty=+stars=false+search= ). In "Accounting and Finance", Bocconi is the first non-UK university.
I don't want to argue about universities. Everyone is free to go anywhere. Furthermore, I think HEC is a great university, but I'd recommend it to someone doing a MSc in Management.

You forget most HEC graduates work in France, and not the UK. Efinancialcareers is a British website. In contrast Italy has a tiny banking industry compared to France, and hence why you would have more Bocconi Grads working in the UK.

Second, the MSc Management at HEC is similar to a 2 year MBA in the US i.e. you specialise in a particular concentration in year 2 e.g. Finance. So it's hardly a general Management degree now is it.

Third, I don't believe anyone looks at QS rankings except teenagers.

Anyways I do not go to HEC. I will be going to LSE. However it would be foolish to think Bocconi has the same brand recognition worldwide, and an alumni base, as HEC, which is comparable to LSE.

I'll be applying for an MSc Finance for Fall 2015 once I find out my GMAT scores after this summer so I've done some research on the units in UK as well as Europe

Non UK targets (this is all imo). Also these are all pre-experience masters

Tier 1 (in no order):
Bocconi
HEC
SSE
RSM

Tier 2 (in no order):
ESSEC
EDHEC
CBS
Mannheim
ESADE

Tier 3 (in no order):
Maastricht
Vlerick
Grenoble
BI

These are all the schools I've been looking at outside UK. Also I'm Belgian and doing undergrad here currently, so I can tell you that Solvay Finance masters is only for people with experience already and it's not credited by CFA. If you had to choose between Vlerick and Solvay for Finance, Vlerick is much better (only for finance, for management or marketing Solvay is good). Also, although Vlerick is very reputable and good for finance, I wouldn't put it up there with tier 1 or 2 schools.

Hi, what would you say is better between Cass and Bocconi? I have an offer for the MSc Corporate Finance in Cass and for the AFC course in Bocconi. I am Italian and I really don't know what to choose.

it depends on what you are targeting. if you are targeting IB in the City, Cass > Bocconi AFC (but the opposite is true if you have an offer for the MSc Finance at Bocconi.)

Actually, I would like to have as many opportunities as possible (IB, accountancy firms, corporate finance), not necessary in the city. I can't understand if cass is well known in Europe (and in Italy) or only in UK.

Cass: good reputation in the UK.
Bocconi: good reputation in Europe, because it is highly ranked.
