I would like to add that Jeremy Wilson is usually spot on with most news regarding Arsenal... but then again, making an "approach" honestly doesn't mean anything. We have approached a lot of world class players in the past few seasons but backed out last minute because our standard "take it or leave it offer" falls through.

Will the board splash out £35M+ on a DM?
dat mouthwaterin martinez/ramsey pivot. The club wouldn't have approached Bayern though, i dont remember the last time the clubs ever approached anyone lol. All just rumours atm so expectations are still sub zero for me.

They released 14 players. Obviously have to cut wages after being relegated

1 of those 14 players was involved in their matchday squad last weekend, and the article said he'd been at the club for 10 years so it was probably a sympathy appearance. They've obviously got rid of the deadwood from their squad, if Frimpong was any good they'd have got him to stay.

I don't get the Arteta one. He is our best penalty taker. But that seems to be all he can do now.

They weren't direct insults

Any real fan knows Mertesacker more than makes up his performance even though he lacks pace

Any real fan knows podolski is one of our best shooters

Any real fan knows Arteta is our go to Penalty guy

Though Nana Wilson's tekkers were to much ..

One can only hope <3

The Martinez unhappiness rumours are heating up though
“Arsene is my football father. He took me from France, made me the player I am, made me believe about my quality. He was great for me. I am pleased Arsenal are in the final of the FA Cup. I hope they win. I might have a problem with Arsenal fans because of the way they treat me but I just want Arsene to win a trophy because he doesn’t deserve everything that has been said about him.

“I am a big fan of Jose Mourinho. I like him when he goes into the press conference, the way he talks, but what he said about Arsene is really disrespectful. Arsenal is Arsene. He changed the club. You cannot call him ‘a specialist in failure’. Everyone needs to calm down, even the Arsenal fans because they are really mean with him. ‘In Arsene We Trust’. That’s what they said. They should do it.’’

“The problem was the (new) stadium. They didn’t have the money to buy the players. Arsene is a straight guy. He can see into the future. He didn’t want to be penalised by Financial Fair Play so he wanted to stay by the rules and not living by debt. This year everything has been paid. He’s just paid €50m for Mesut Ozil. In the future, he will do it.’’

Much respect to Nasri for these comments. Quality player, I never hated him.

Pre-eminent German football magazine Kicker are reporting that Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all interested in signing Thomas Müller.

How reliable are Kicker? Reported that four players at Bayern are unhappy last week (Muller being one of them).

They're considered to be the sports paper of record in Germany.

Definitely something going on at Bayern imo, players like Martinez/Muller/Gotze are much too good to have the roles they have currently.

Van Gaal and Muller are v.close I believe...

Yeah. He's not really the type of winger we need but still a massive improvement on what we currently have, and that's an understatement. If Van Gaal did go for him, he'd probably be looking to play him centrally (as he did at Bayern), which would be hilarious if nothing else, considering our current options.

If he'd truly believed that he would have stayed at the club rather than going to City. He's not RVP he's not at his peak in his final years, he's 26, plus he jumped ship before him. If he'd trusted Wenger and trusted him to see in the future he'd have stayed put.

We could really do with Muller, considering the quality we have from the wings atm. Hopefully we can get a bit of Van Gaal pull going on, considering their relationship at Bayern.

Top quality magazine regarding analysis and unbiased news coverage, but not really good with transfer rumours and gossip, no real insider information.

They mostly just summarise the rumours that are currently circulating, as was the case this time (Müller has been linked with most European club in the last weeks and months, Martínez unhappy is weeks old etc).

I don't blame him for leaving, he only has one career. Why should he forsake trophies and success for Arsenal's long term project? After all it was his own personal ambition that brought him to Arsenal, why should he turn it off.

One thing I come to realise following football whilst growing up is that players will never love the club as much as the fans. No matter how much they kiss the badge or give their all on the pitch. Of you you get your one club men Giggs, Adams, Gerrard but majority of players only want to fulfill their ambitions. Where were Henry, Vieira and Cesc when times got tough?

I see. I just hope that if someone does leave Bayern this Summer, United do everything possible to bring him here, and that includes their manager. Highly doubt Bayern would sack after a year, but if so many players are unhappy, they may consider it. Like to think their players think highly of United, I know a lot of our players have high regards for Bayern.

I've always stated, the out of the transfer of RVP, Cesc and Nasri, Nasri's one hurts the most.

Also, are Bayern's players actually "unhappy" or is this the kind of story that comes out when a team is going through a "tough period".

I'd imagine there are unhappy players with the quality and depth they have, you look at how many of them are getting like 20 league starts or less. They can't be happy, but I'd think there is a difference between being unhappy with the competition for place and looking to leave, certainly for the Germans in the team.
