OPINIONS: CUHK or HKU for Business?

Interesting trivia: CUHK was approved to be established because HKU refused to open programmes in Chinese.

I meant to ask Hilary, with the year being an important factor in my overall degree classification, how is the teaching/marking style at HKU in comparison to British Universities?

I know it's an international university and it should be relatively the same, but it's imperative there's no 'finding my feet' if this makes sense.

Do they demand more? Less? Specific styles/trains of thought etc? Any help is appreciated

I think I've mentioned that I cannot comment because I don't know your university, and I haven't taken any module in business in neither HKU nor CUHK.

So I can only talk about very general experiences in HKU. They like to have group work, meaning presentations and projects. People generally aim for a B, which would give you a GPA of 3.0, but obviously there are people who would aim higher, but most likely A- ('a range') instead of an A because that's relatively rarer. 3.0 is generally the threshold for a 2:1. A+ is very rare but could exist. People say social sciences give out the best grades, with arts and education having the lowest ones. I have no idea if you will be tested in a paper examination, but I'm sure you will need to do plenty of presentations. Everything is done in a modular basis, so it could be a course with 20% class participation (which could be anything from merely showing up to participating in online discussions), 40% paper (essay), 20% presentation (group and/or individual), and 20% examination. Each course is different. You are likely to have one tutorial to go with one lecture, but it depends. I think each course has 24 hours of contact hours, or lecture hours.

Teaching style varies from person to person so really don't know.

Content-wise won't be much different. But grading is overall harsher. I think getting a 2:1 is the norm in any UK university? I think for a lot of UK programs, over half the class get 2:1. At HKU, 2:2 is closer to the norm. Quite a few get 2:1, but very few high 2:1s - mostly low end.

have got 3A*in phy,sociology,Psy 1E in chem ,1D in Geo in and 1A in IT,1E in general paper and 1A in eng Lang and 1U in biology .what are my chances of getting full scholarship in cuhk/hku?and as well as admission?
