Maths IGCSE 14th May

Taking my first external math paper tomorrow. Does anybody have any tricky questions from past papers? Also, is there any patter for what to expect in 3H and 4H paper? (eg. geometry in first paper or vectors in second)
Thanks!

There isn't a pattern as far as I'm aware. Our teacher told us that if any big topics didn't come up on paper 3 then they would likely be on 4. Try bland maths, they have a section of a* level questions
Maths is easy, just do past papers.

I think i remember doing my paper and vectors did not come up in first paper, and was a bit pissed off when it didn't come up in second paper.
My teacher told me circles always come up in both papers :smile:

Are there any important formulae we need to know that aren't on the formula sheet?
Useful to know:

Compound interest.

N(1+r/100)to the power of n

N=initial amount
r=% change per day/month/year
n= number of days/months/years
Just circle theorems
what about sets and functions? are those likely to come up? HELPPPP

Yes, I would be surprised if one or the other did not.

You need to just learn your set notation: look it up and memorise.

I seem to remember from my mock that the formula of for area of segment or sector of a circle isn't given, though that may well have changed. Good luck for tomorrow everyone! :smile::smile:

One of the surds questions from the January 2014 3H paper was quite difficult for me.

Good luck everyone! My first external maths exam tomorrow.

Does anyone have an overlap with Edexcel IT
Yh angles of elevation/3-D Pythagoras and 3D trigonometry are ones to practice if you find them hard

Usually the harder questions all like puzzle solving. You just have to spit what to e.g realise that two lengths are same as they are radii etc
Hey!
Start sharing answers…how did everyone do?
Wasn't that bad right?
What did you guys get for the probability questions?

First one was 1/6 and second one was 7/18
i think i might have gotten 100% on that paper
