could I just point out that's C2 not C1

Write out the first few terms.

What's a and what's d?

Then, you can sub into the AP formula and get an equation to solve in terms of n.

For your exam board that is C2. For edexcel that is a C1 question. Exam boards vary.

That's C1, the C2 version of that is to prove the sum of a Geometric series, not the arithmetic series.:tongue:

I'm doing OCR mei maths, there are no sequences in C1 fortunately!

Oh okay!
actually I like sequences, they are quite logical in my opinion.
C1 is non-calculator though so doing the quadratic formula would be difficult?

Yep, it would be very difficult , my board is OCR and this question would be on a calculator C2 paper. I'm guessing you either would get a question with a simple quadratic or use another method do get the answer.
