Hii, I had the c1 exam too....how was your exam I was really confused with the last question. I really had no idea how to find c. I feel it went really horrible. I also have an exam on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Ohhhh I don't feel good.
For the last question, i looked at it for ages thinking i had to work out what x was from the completing the square. Anyway fortunately it told you what the gradient was at y=4x+c so the gradient was 4 so you just plugged this in as the dy/dx of 2x^2+8x+3which was 4x +8 and equal it to -1 from (-2,25)then you find x, and then y and i got y as 1 to find x it's 4x+8 = 4giving you an giving x = -1so find y=2(-1)^2+8(-1) + 3, y=2-8+3 so y=-3 so (-1,-3)and -3=4(-1)+c c=-3+4 c=1 giving y=4x+1

I'm disappointed with how it went. I felt really prepared before going in, I've been getting As in all of the mocks (with the occasional high B) but I thought it was one of the hardest C1 papers I've done. For me there were a few harder longer mark questions which made me feel very uneasy. :frown: I just need to pull it out of the bag for C2 and D1 now!

I dont know how I feel about the exam. Defo dropped 4 marks in the last sequence question, atleast 3 in the area question and the graph question. Cant believe I drew it wrong!!!!!!
What did you guys get in the inequality question for b & c?
I think the grade boundaries will be low, considering a lot of people are saying they found it hard...(praying they will be!!)
Heyy..
I screwed up a lot...probably dropped 20ish marks
what do i need to get on my c2 and d1 paper for an A??
Hi many solutions to the two cuve equations

Sorry, how many solutions were there to the two curve equations combined ( 1 mark) ?

Posted from TSR Mobile
I am quite surprised so many found it so difficult, i thought it was a respectable paper.

Two. The cubic and the hyperbola intersect twice.

yeah same, I came out of that pretty chuffed with myself to be honest.

I managed to do the last question because Ive done quite a few solomon papers, and that kind of question came up in them once or twice so I had no problem with it
what year did everyone get for the computer one?

haha i hate solomon papers so much! They make you feel like you're really bad!

Yep! This paper just proved to me that mathematical ability doesn't really matter at A-level (at least AS) as long as you put in the hard work with the past papers. Solomon papers especially.

I can probably find gradients/tangents/normals to curves in my sleep.
