Do you consider UKIP good or bad?

People earning minimum wage struggle to get by now so if that is abolished there will be more people living in poverty

Take it from someone who was there, people weren't struggling to get by before the minimum wage came in.

Guess where our funding came from that right the EU. While the government takes the credit for reducing unemployment often the money to run these schemes goes to not for profit companies and has come from the EU.

...and where did that EU money come from? That's right the British taxpayer, except for every pound we receive from the EU we hand over more (i won't try and state how much, frankly no one knows the exact figure, but we do pay more)

I dont want UKIP to win next year!!!!
Haters gona hate if you agree with UKIP you are racist!!

The gullibility of that first sentence provides a nice precept for the ignorance of the second. Well done. 10 out of 10 for consistency
lol so are we saying all the immigrants are coming in bcuz of the UK's benefits state?

where does that put the dole scum currently on our streets then?

If say 5% of the ethnic Brits are dole scum, and 4% of immigrants are on the dole, does that justify locking the lot of them out?

I personally think the welfare system for *anybody*, no matter where they're from, is way too lenient in this country. but if we're talking about immigrants specifically, it is more to do with the sheer number that come and how it has an obvious effect on employment rather than anything to do with welfare or the budget. however, I have a particular problem with the fact that even a small number of people (immigrants) can come here, knowing full well that our welfare system is so generous, and then exploit it (which any of them could do in principle as a matter of law); if you can't afford to live in this country it makes no sense to emigrate and live here and then claim anything (in my opinion). immigrants should have to wait a very long time until they get any public money if they are to get anything at all here. but that's just my opinion, and obviously it's probably slightly closer to UKIP's view of things than the liblabcon's. at least the people that were born here didn't make the choice of "there's a country over there that'll give me free things, I'll go there instead" in their lives. they didn't have that kind of choice

Spent much time in Africa? Most of that money just goes mysteriously missing.

Another socialist closet-bigot exposed. What a generalisation, and do some research on Angola and South Africa before you assert such a fallacy dear. Ukip claim to want to reduce foreign aid (which often ends up in the hands of Western-influenced corrupt leaders of African countries which then place the money in Western bank, so not helping their countries significantly, or at all), and instead lift barries to trade, enabling Africa to compete fairly. As a child of Cameroonian descent, I am compelled to support them. Plus, they claim to want to eliminate tuition fees, and increase student grants, how could I oppose them?
The level of ignorance on this thread is shocking! UKIP are not a racist party. It may have racist members (who Farage is trying to get rid of) but the vast majority are perfectly rational.

If Tesco has a racist employee, does that make Tesco a racist company?

Bad, to put it plainly. Not going to reiterate the points made here.

From a convenience point of view, I'd rather not have to purchase a visa everytime I wish to cross the channel, which seems to be the direction we're headed.

Who said anything about locking "them" out, when has Britain locked out immigrants?

UKIP are bad because:

1) They wish to remove the UK from the jurisdiction of the EU court of human rights. You heard me, UKIP wants the UK not to have to abide by laws that protect fundamental human rights and freedoms.

2) 'No to political correctness'- basically they'd like to create a platform where racist/homophobic/islamaphobic statements are no longer frowned upon. They say PC stifles free speech, I say not having it segregates society.

3) Their entire immigration policy is based on fear and intolerance. 'Immigrants put pressure on the healthcare system'- Nope, the elderly put pressure on the healthcare system and arguably, the NHS wouldn't function without immigrants.- this is one example, there's many more but I'm not really in the mood to list every single one.

4) Their policies are based on idealisms, not realisms. They want lower taxes but more police on the streets, improved roads. Fair enough- but where's that money going to come from?

5) Their immigration policy will see an increase in homelessness and crimes committed by immigrants. 'Immigrants must financially support themselves for 5 years before receiving state help'. Example: A migrant worker works in the UK for 2 years, brings his family here, things are looking good. Company he works for gets made redundant, can no longer afford things, is not entitled to benefits or any state help. Begins stealing to provide for his family.

Just a few I can think of off the top of my head

The money will come from tripling the size of the army! oh wait...

They seem completely unclear of what their own policies arr, all they're sure about is that they don't like people from Romania lol.

Also seeing black and asian members of UKIP is the funniest oxymoron ever lol.

No they aren't unclear of their policies. A problem with people like you is that you don't even bother doing your own research - UKIP has a whole manifesto. Other policies of UKIP - abolition of university fees, removing pointless political correctness,of course leaving Europe, removing health tourism, lower tax.

Why is it an oxymoron? UKIP is not a racist party. UKIP aims to reduce immigration, it's racist to assume all immigrants are black or asian. UKIP will not let in any white people who offer nothing. UKIP will let in a romanian doctor over a random white guy, because UKIP is not racist, it only aims to reduce the number of immigrants in the country which will relieve pressure on the NHS, housing, many other things.

Just a few I can think of off the top of my head

1. UKIP plan to introduce a bill of rights, a bit like the USA has. This is because the EU forces us to keep people like terrorists in our country and we can't deport them.

2. Nowadays, people can get jobs like equality officers, reducing political correctness doesn't mean becoming racist, it means that it would be acceptable to oppose things like immigration without being considered racist.

3. The policy is based on reducing the number of immigrants coming in to the country to relieve pressure on pretty much everything. They don't plan to not let in a specific group, it isn't intolerance. They want to remove health tourism which will stop draining the NHS' budget, and they aren't going to ban groups like Indians from moving to England and becoming doctors, because they are a valuable service.

4. A lot of the money is meant to come from the billions saved by leaving the EU. As strain on the NHS and services will be reduced, less will naturally need to be spent.

5. That means an immigrant is only able to move over if they already have a job set up and insurance etc. they aren't just letting in everyone and allowing them to become homeless, because that is part of the problem now, that they are letting in everyone. By letting in a select few who have jobs set up etc., this will surely benefit society and they won't turn to crime because they won't be allowed to move here if they're considered a threat, or have no way of making a living I assume

A bill of rights drafted by UKIP would not be anywhere near as strong as America's, it would most likely be a weak form like Canada has which is basically the same as not having one. I certainly wouldn't trust Farage and his cronies, or even the Conservatives, to produce a bill that provides adequate protection.

Did you just claim that money for infrastructure projects doesn't go missing in South Africa??? Hahahaha South Africa is really corrupt!!! As corrupt as Brazil!!! Meanwhile 32 billion USD has gone missing in Angola!!!

You may be of Cameroonian descent but you have clearly read very little into Africas governance. Really if you wanted to go for an example of a well governed non corrupt African Country it would be Cape Verde.

Where's the money going to come from for abolishing tuition fees given the amount they propose to pour onto the army and police?

They have a local election manifesto (the first page of which is a massive nudge-nudge wink-wink "we are being overwhelmed by a horde of immigrants and they are all work-shy and/or criminals"). They've conveniently disowned their last general election manifesto because it was so wildly unpopular and have yet to come up with any concrete policies for the national level other than a referendum to leave the EU.

Other local policies include massive cuts to local government, privatisation of all local services, abolishment of any locally-controlled equality schemes, removal of the laws protecting the environment and water table from bad waste disposal practices so we can dispose of waste dangerously but cheaply, cut all funding to renewables, and an absurd direct democracy scheme that would have binding referendums on any issue 5% of the community agrees to contest. Fairly standard right-wing dismantle the state and privatise everything type policies.

We know from polling that at least half of the UKIP vote from Thursday already say they will not be voting UKIP in the general, and once UKIP publish a manifesto and pin their libertarian colours to the mast anyone who isn't actually hard right will back off, too.
