AQA Physics Unit 2 (PHYA2) 9 June 2014

Hey all! An official thread has not yet been made for this exam so I thought I would make one.

Feel free to share your revision tips and resources if you so wish, and ask for solutions to past paper questions, hopefully someone will be able to help :colondollar:

How are you revising for refraction? I can't seem to understand it
Interference patterns are my worst topic, do not understand at all!

Refraction is the bending of waves when it goes from one material to another. If the material is more dense, it bends towards the normal, if it's less dense it bends away :')

Try this: http://youtu.be/ybn-qr-Pvnw

Yeh i find that hard too don't like the waves part of things

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

In the physics guru section, try to add DrPhysicsA, he is a A-Level Physics God. Retaking this exam after getting a B last year, seems like an easy unit compared to A2. If you are struggling with interference, I recommend:

Anyone help with this question: bii

Why would the reaction force be greater than the weight if the ball, surely if it stationary They are both opposite?,

Isn't it greater because the ball has been accelerating downwards, so Newton's third law: every action has an equal and opposite reaction, the reaction will be equal to the force that the ball hit the floor with, otherwise the ball wouldn't bounce back up?

I don't actually know what I'm talking about, but this is what I would write

According to N3L of motion every object exert equal and opposite reaction. The resultant force of weight of the ball is greater than the downward force meaning that the resultant force would act upwards.

because the ball decelerates, so the force acting upwards must be greater.

You could probably use F=ma to explain it

But it says it is stationary?

Sorry, the link to question doesn't actually work for me.
I was assuming it was that question about the ball being dropped into the cylinder full of liquid?
Maybe not, sorry

For someone called "Genius123456" you ask a very stupid question...

I've hardly started... other exams first :P but I've learnt my definitions, then I'll learn equations and bits of theory that are tricky and do lots of papers!
