Damm Im doing:

Exercise Physiology
Sport Psychology
Comparative Studies

Haha same here! I don't like comparative studies..lol
Hi all, best of luck to every one in the exam!
Predictions for me are:

Comparative
-Mass participation AUS v UK
-Radical ethic/Pluralism/Hegemony USA v UK
-Case study sports likely NOT to be Rugby Union or Association football
-Likely NOT to be a a sporting excellence 20 marker but may be a 5 marker
-20 marker is likely to be AUS v UK

Psychology
-Likely sports confidence/self-efficacy to come up
-Emotional control (peak flow/zone of optimum functioning)
-Narrow band theory of personality/personality perhaps 20 marker
-Leadership is UNLIKELY
-Might be something on group cohesion and goal setting wasnt answered well last year

Exercise Physiology
-V02 max and adaptions to aerobic training likely to come up/perhaps 20 marker
-Strength likely to be may also be 20 marker
-Role of ATP not answered well last year + energy/work/power definition and units
-Obesity levels/body composition a possibility
-Perhaps fuel availability
-Passive/Active recovery perhaps
-Might be something on ergogenic aids, especially the unusual ones like parachutes and pulleys

Hope this helps.
Also, could anybody be kind enough to post a little tutorial on how to plan, structure and answer 20 markers. Its been my weak point through AS and A2 so far, and i really want to do well in this upcoming exam. Any advice is appretiated.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your predictions, Im probably going to compile a list of what most likely WONT be in there to help avoid wasting time in certain areas.
Ive just started today FML
No problem, its difficult to predict questions with all the content on this course.

Im just struggling with tackling the 20 markers as stated above. Any advice about how to go about them?

Same :-(
What do you usually get out of 20?

Not gunna lie my highest mark was like level 3 which is like 15/20..
(Average 10 out of 20)

One thing though, if you can get like 15 out of 20 in all the sections.

Thats 45 marks. Then you just need 30marks out of 45 in the rest of questions!
To get 75 out of 120 which is A in 'one' paper lol
Haha I know right, sounds so easy to achieve 15 out 20 but its really difficult! I too average 10, however I usually get like 40/45 for short answers which isnt too bad  if I get an A in this exam then ill get an A over all, Ive been working my butt off haha!

Could someone explain narrow band theory :-( and emotional control in sports psychology plzz
Emotional control:
anxiety=negative emotional state of worry, nervousness
arousal=more generally positive, "how much you're up for it"
a peak flow experience occurs when high somatic arousal coincides with low cognitive anxiety. This results in happiness, self-fulfilment. a fully focused and controlled performance achieves quality of skill.
Each person has an individual zone of optimum functioning. Different people perform best at different arousal levels.
This section's closely linked with attentional control&social facilitation. Psychology so a lot of sections work together, are affected by 1 another.
Personality, complexity of task&level of ability all affect arousal levels.
State anxiety=situation specific temporary
Trait anxiety=stable, enduring general
Stress triggers/stimulates increases in arousal/anxiety
Then the somatic&cognitive anxiety management techniques.
(edited 9 years ago)
Girdano's narrow band theory:
small section, 1 of 2 trait perspectives to personality
type A: highly competitive, fast working, prone to suffer stress, like control, strong desire to succeed(so therefore aspire to mastery orientation I guess...hadn't thought of that before.)
type b: opposites
non-competitive, don't enjoy being in control, fairly even temperament(less prone to stress), work more slowly, less desire to succeed
I'm type A, classify yourself if that helps
that's it for this exam...

Thanks for the predictions, how did you come about these? Did you just check through past papers at all? or your teacher told you?

Thanks again
Any advice on answering 20 mark questions?? Please
My teacher told me, I have a good sheet on the liklihood of phsychology questions that may come up. Ill attach it if you like??
