Man, balotelli would be such a good buy at £25-30m, he's so clinical.

Free kick & penalty specialist too

Don't know how his attitude is now though

Anyone can arbitrarily choose a time frame that makes the other team look bad in comparison...

Well we managed to get the worlds best no. 10, so surely we aren't that unattractive a prospective team? A lot of that is down to Wenger no doubt, but when he leaves we won't be in a Moyes situation on the pitch because of the amount of money he has left in the coffers to spent on transfers, and the relatively youthful nature of our team (both things United didn't get right with Moyes).

Is he really the worlds best no.10?

Or just a very good no.10 when it comes to setting up chances in a specific system? Being when there are runners who try and get behind defensive lines and go for goal directly. Rooney e.g. is a great no.10 when he has to set up chances for himself and for others in a run and cross system. I think Ozil is a system player.

Tbh you don't have that **** of a team with so many suspects, I said that about United though but they've been mismanaged badly if I'm being honest. Really Arsenal have a squad with a good age and a good core, a DM, an RB and a striker is good enough for most people to manage the team, as long as they're not david moyes.

United were in a different situation, although saying that, how you'd do post Wenger is relative to the rest of the league, you're only as good as your best opponent. If United improve majorly and Liverpool sustain their current successful season then it's looking like you could miss out post Wenger, that's not to say you will miss out, but it could potentially happen. Same way Chelsea will miss out on CL next season if we start the season with our current squad.

it would be the arsenal thread without some kind of dispute relating to trophies...

the fact is that "weak" liverpool and chelsea teams won the champions league, and arsenal haven't.
who even cares?
that is in the past; of course you can remember the glorious times, but football only moves forward and to you arsenal fans, just look forward and win the CL next season if you're gonna cry so much about it.

That's a very good picture man.

Why is there a guy wearing a bandana ffs?

Says a lot that our teams that won it were so **** yet you guys haven't won it.

We were probably the best to fail to win it :colondollar:

That goes to Atlético Madrid fortunately. It's not like you were 1min away from winning the european cup and the champions league and manage to lose it.(peak on their lives tbh)

Leeds United also go on about the european cup that's really theirs too.

At the time of us signing him he was for me. No better assister in Europe in the last 4 years. Yes players work better in different systems, and you have to build a front three around Ozil to get the best out of him, not doubting that argument.

I don't mean in terms of circumstance, I mean in terms of ability.

Surely Bayern Munich have the honour then?

Bayern in 2012, na because they were whipped by Dortmund, were like 8 points behind them. The 2012 team(not the 2013 Bayern team btw) probably were weaker than Manchester United's 09 team. They were missing Martinez and Dante who improved the side a lot. Atlético pretty much had their hand on the cup, Bayern still had another 10 or so minutes to go.

Atlético came off the back of winning La Liga in a race where the two previous winners had won it with 100 points, a side that was able to beat a side with probably the best winger duo in history.

With terms of ability, well you know what I feel about the Arsenal 04 side. Juve did the same thing a few years ago and they've just come off the back of a 102 point season in serie A. Doing very well in the league doesn't mean you have a team capable of winning the CL, just look at United.

99 was daylight ****ing robbery, dominated all game then get done on 2 set pieces in a row. If I was a Bayern fan I'd have died.

the worst thing about it is that united fans will never shut up about it - constantly comparing it to 05.
i'm sorry but although scoring 2 goals from set pieces in stoppage time is great, it isn't an unheard of comeback.

being 1 goal down is a massive difference to being 3 goals down; i've never understood why people compare those finals because 05 is on another level.
Oh man Bayern. The team embodies crumble
So we've had an all German final, all Spanish final the past 2 years, I'm calling all English final this year. If not all Italian/French. PSG Monaco final would be interesting tbf.

Na I'd rather lose undeservedly than deservedly. Least you know that next time you won't make the same mistake.

Real would have been robbed this year though.

who do you think would make the all english final?
obviously chelsea
but city are poor in europe and arsenal are pretty unlucky with draws
not to mention liverpool have been out for a while and will have a tough group

nah, i couldn't bear to dominate a game and then lose.
if you lose and the other team simply outclasses you, there isn't much you can dwell on - you just weren't good enough.

Arsenal well if they'd had just went for the draw against dortmund at the emirates instead of going gung ho they would have probably made the quarters. Same way if Pellegrini knew how to count he'd have got his team to attack Bayern and they'd have faced someone other than Barcelona.

It's their fault for not qualifying first out of their group. It's not down to unlucky draws, only bad draw they've actually got past the group stages was Milan in 2012. Besides that they've got the draws they've deserved, if they play like a 2nd seed team and get a 1st seed team in the second round then they're most likely going to lose.

I'm a very bad loser, who just shrugs off every defeat and laughs it off. I don't care how we lose, as long as we lose I take little to no positives out of it bar if we played well.

Arsenal have only lost the CL final undeservedly so I can't compare :colondollar:

"Someone throw Pellegrini an abacus" was the single greatest thing I saw on the bbc feed all season.

We got a bad QF draw after we beat Porto 6-2 on aggregate (Barca) too.

fair enough i guess - so you think an english final would be arsenal vs chelsea?
no offence to arsenal, but i would only ever see chelsea wining that match.

i think we may surprise people in the group stages, but we will probably make quarters at best (i would very happy with that though)
however if it all goes as expected and we get booted in to the europa, i expect us to at least makes the semis.

oh god i'm completely different
even if we win, i'll still be annoyed if certain players played badly or if we only just scraped it
for me it's all about performance and momentum; losing from a mistake (i.e: gerrard slip) is the absolute worst way a team can lose in my book

i would rather be outclassed and thrashed than lose undeservedly.
