Agreed.

One of my friends seriously injured his knee on them despite doing fairly light (55kg)

Bit of a Mickey Mouse exercise to be honest..

they are a good exercise to put on mass in the legs(just don't go too heavy or you can snap up some ****), I did do squats but have stopped doing them recently due to lower back. I've got some good gains in the legs doe.

Nope does the belt help reduce it? I notice I have more lower back pain after shoulder workouts. I have been addressing good form, but I searched it online and apparently any kind of shoulder presses causes strain on the lower spine/lower back.

Theres far better ways of putting on size on your legs than leg extensions, lunges, split squats etc. I never went heavy on them yet visit snap city.... They're a daft unnatural movement

Lower back pain on squats is often mobility linked, increase your flexibility and foam roll your legs and thoracic spine.

Proper belts are indicated in lower back pain for many people btw

30kg in each hand means a one plate bench

Welcome to the non bitch weight bench crew

Next stop valid opinion crew

Does it? I could do over 30kg per hand (35kg if I recall) incline benching over a year ago. I don't think I could've done 100kg back then. I guess it carries over better for some but I found barbell requires you to be tighter and a bit more technique. I always found barbell benching easier but my chest developed too quickly compared to everything else so I laid off it for around 10 months. Basically, to get better at barbell benching you gotta barbell bench

Do you use decent form and squeeze your glutes as hard as possible when pressing? Takes the stress off your lower back.

Depends on what your back problem is tbh.
Anecdotally a lot of guys who use a full belt all the time complain of back pain all the time.
I know a fact a belt would worsen my back problem.
You use a fabric belt if I remember?

Mine is just pumps, the belt helps. I can imagine if you have actual spine trouble then a belt will make things worse.

Yeah, it's pretty much the same as this:

30/6/14

Dumbbell flat bench - 27.5kg (6,6,6,6) PB
T bar rows - 72.5kg (5,5,5,5,5) PB
DB split squats - 17.5kg (8,8,8)
Shrugs - 82.5kg (3x8) PB then 70kg (3x8)
Tricep pushdowns
Incline hammer curls - 12.5kg (6,5) 10kg (7)

T bar rows are starting to get quite tough.
Realised my rom on the decline dumbbell press wasn't great so tried flat today with a good rom. Feels good.
