AS level - AQA Chemistry revision books?

hey, I'm going to start AS level this september, and I'm doing AQA Chemistry. There are so many books to choose from to revise, so I want to pick out the best ones.
I'm doing:
AQA Chemistry
- Unit 1: Foundation Chemistry
- Unit 2: Chemistry In Action

And I found these books so far for unit 1:
* http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0007268254/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1QFFHAW65W3ZI&coliid=I3D6VFEUNHQ1NO

* http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/034097110X/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1QFFHAW65W3ZI&coliid=I2GSAG84DBBLK6

* http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1444180924/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1QFFHAW65W3ZI&coliid=ILLI574R3WBRN

I used the first one ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0007268254/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1QFFHAW65W3ZI&coliid=I3D6VFEUNHQ1NO ) and I found it really useful so I would definitely recommend that one, they also do one for Unit 2, 4 and 5 which are also helpful for revision, if you have any questions about AQA AS or A2 Chemistry just ask :smile:

Thank you so much! I'm probably going to do unit 4 and 5 in A2.
By any chance, does this book come with answers? I'm presuming there are questions in the book or small tests.
Thanks a bunch!
Did you only use this book?

I personally really enjoyed a-level chemistry and it was probably my favourite one, A2 is a bit of a jump and requires a really good memory for learning all your colours and bon haber cycles (joys of unit 5) and the organic crazy unit 4 but it is definitely manageable!

Yeah those revision books come with exam style questions and answers which is really helpful.

Does your college/sixth form use the nelson thornes AQA textbooks, I highly presume they will, they have really good exam style questions aswell and explains the topics extremely well!!

For revision i used: PAST PAPERS which are absolutely key, use the old spec and the new spec past papers since they are very similar and AQA are known to repeat questions which were mentioned in the old spec especially in chemistry. I used the nelson thrones AQA AS and A2 textbook mainly but also used the collins revision guides to get a quick summary of certain topics.

Heres an extremely useful website that I used a lot for revision http://a-levelchemistry.co.uk/AQA%20Chemistry/AQA%20Chemistry%20home.html :biggrin:

For my entire chemistry A Level I just used the first one, alongside the CGP revision guide, and these which are brilliant.

I'm actually not sure, it's a new sixth form opening this September so we'll see. I'll get a hold of the Nelson ones which I've seen on amazon.
I'll definitely be printing them past papers :biggrin:
Excited!!

go on google, search for alevlechemistry, first link, then select AQA chemistry, there's loads of past papers and revision material on there

EDIT: Woops, seems like someone beat me to it.

I printed them off for every unit, they are ace :h:

Feel free to ask any questions about A Level chemistry if you need.

Good luck with it :smile:

AS chemistry starts fairly easily, unit 1 is basically just GCSE again.

I got an A for my AS, waiting for my A2 results this summer :eek4: Need an A* in it but it is very unlikely that I have achieved that.
