Is that your plan then? You have really thought about this hard haven't you?

Nah, I did family law at uni, when you read through the cases you gradually work out what does work for those trying to dodge court orders.

Then why are you using participating in a thread on TSR.

BTW always find it funny when I hear this - I work in tech.

I mean to socialise with people I actually know. I hardly ever text or anything, unless it's to make plans to meet somebody. I don't see you point. And as far as we're concerned, you're the enemy.

Don't you think that by having all of these rules, it will lead to game playing?

I think that's the gripe a lot of guys have, they feel like they can't be themselves because if they express themselves in x , y , z way it isn't the right way to do things. And hence feel like they cant be themselves.

TBH, I think if the girl wanted to be with the OP, she wouldn't make things hard for him. If someone wants something, they will make it happen. It's human nature.

OP was being strung along well before he told her that he liked her. She probably knew it anyway, so shouldnt have come as a surprise.

EDIT:

OP, she has made up her mind, don't even try and get her to change her mind, seriously BRO WALK AWAY.

Rules...? It's not a rule, and a text is not expressing yourself. Agree with what your saying about the girl though, I was just pointing out that texting something like that seems insincere.

Yeah, but what I am saying right, maybe he felt comfortable texting her and not meeting up with her in person and telling her?

Telling someone you like them can be a really ballsy thing to do. So rather then get creeped out by it, maybe she should look at it from his point of view.

Irrespective, I think he would have got rejected in person anyway - texting was not the big deal, attraction was not strong enough.

Disagree, I think it comes of as stalkerish. I've just realised that me and the guys I know are probably more anti technology than the rest of you.

Girls throw words like this and creepy far too often. I'm not sure if they even understand what those words actually mean.

Well I did feel unconfident doing it that way, I did offer to meet up (all be it in the wrong way, she probably would've wanted to know why just me and her would be meeting up, and I would've had to say anyway)

Don't get me wrong, I would've much MUCH preferred to tell her face to face.

But if he'd said it to her face, she would have had no choice but to give him a straight answer. Instead the guys left hanging, unsure of how she feels.

If it's face to face, it fine. Man up, boys, and stop hiding behind mobiles if you like somebody.

What happened? She didn't want to meet up with you I bet...by making an excuse?

If so - that is a common thing a lot of girls do when they are not interested. It's happened to me, and other guys.
She probably always knew you liked her, you just confirmed it.

For future, one golden rule of advice. If a girl wants you, she will find a way for it to happen. Learn from this experience, and never prematurely over emotionally invest into someone unless you are dating them. It will save you A LOT of trouble in the future - and you won't feel short changed, which I suspect is how you are feeling right now.

Then I internet high five you. Her fault for saying no.

From my own experience anyway, a lot of girls wont meet up with you if they are not attracted.

They will make a **** load of excuses. So sometimes texting them and just laying your cards out of the table is the only way. Other times I have done it because, you know what, it is just more convenient if you lead a busy life like I do. I don't see what the big deal is tbh, you can express yourself perfectly fine over a text message - I am doing this right now on here.

Yeah, I def agree with you there and that is the benefit of doing it that way for sure.

Sorry, I can't speak for every female on the planet, but if a friend asks to meet me, I'm there. Sorry on behalf of women. And anyway, you're expressing your opinions, but it's hardly an emotional discussion, is it?

I ask her to meet up:

"Hey, If I'm not working late tomorrow can we meet up, I need to talk to you" (that last part I shouldn't have said looking at it now)

(If I had asked her for a drink she would've said Oh I'll invite xyz, i would've said no just me n you, she would've asked why then I would've had to have said, lose lose situation)

We basically go back and forth me dodging saying why, she says she'll text me until i tell her - so i do, and I've been met with silence for the past two days.

Well good on you. Clearly the OPs girl wasn't.

It doesn't have to be emotional discussion to express yourself.
"I need to talk to you" is a bit full on. lol
