Ffs I honestly don't know if I want to support arsenal next season I'm pulling my hair out over some of the **** I've endured week in week out

Someone reassure me

we will never have a better team than city or chelsea but we will constantly aim for fourth and keep the bank of england happy while maintaining our co-efficient in europe by only reaching the last 16 but never challenging like the almighty oil clubs of our time. wenger is an incompetent manager with no passion who is a voyeur and a specialist in failure and his dinosaur tactics will never match up to the chosen one. our best players will leave us on a seasonly basis because they finally see the light in that all other clubs in the premier league have more ambition than than the arsenal, that is why both our previous captains are at our competitors and we have the likes of arteta donning the captains armband.

i'm not really sure on how to reassure an opposition fan but i think that should do it.

You are, but i still watch your posts when we aren't arguing.

Anything constructive to say on my previous post or should I just leave now?

We don't have anywhere near the level of midfield depth that is needed to play with a striker like giroud. The second Walcott and Ramsey are out you get midtable (and that's being generous) performances from him. We look so ****ing bad in attack it's so disjointed and teams just sit high up vs us because there's no threat in behind. This is why the likes of Everton batter us

Oh but actually he was mate we sold robin van persie and bought giroud in if that's not a replacement I don't know what is

**** sake

Also I still maintain that stance that giroud isn't at fault for everything the **** that's surrounded him like wilsha, cazorla, ozil and podolski all deserve as much blame

I know it might be difficult to contemplate for you but he wasn't a direct replacement for RVP.

RVP scored 37/94 goals that season next closest was Theo with 11 and also the only one to get to double figures. Next joint top scorers were Arteta et al with 6.

2012/13- 4 players reached double figures. Guess who? Theo+ those 3 players we signed aka the Real RVP replacement (please stand up). Contribution form the rest remained more or less the same :teehee:

2013/14- RVP replacements again finished within top 4 of our scoring chart with Giroud the only one that improved.

Comparing RVP best season in an Arsenal shirt to a player who cost less than £10M is stupidity at it's best. Once again I say Giroud was meant to play alongside RVP. Wenger has been eager to use 4-4-2 again. Bids for Higuain and Suarez last summer show that Wenger wants another striker to contrast and compliment Giroud. Giroud even confessed himself he'd prefer playing along side another striker because it helps get the best out of him.

How do you play Ozil in a 442?

Arsenal as a team have performed poorly in the big games yet Giroud is blamed. Typical fickle scapegoating I've come to expect from some Arsenal fans.

How does he mess up attacks? He's been involved in the best attacking moves at Arsenal. Team goal against Norwich? Assist in FA Cup final? I can get may more examples to show how instrumental Giroud id in build up play

The fact that Giroud isn't clinical is the main criticism that I can level at him, I disagree with the other stuff.

Honestly what do you expect from a striker for the price of £9.6M?

His price is completely ****ing irrelevant we're talking about his credentials to play for arsenal

Suarez and higuain would of had giroud sat on the bench don't kid yourself otherwise. We would play the same formation because wenger isn't going to sign ozil to play 4-4-2 is he for **** sake.

How many chances did giroud miss vs city? Chelsea? Utd?

Giroud also came out in the January window saying he didn't want another striker signed so that kills your point there

I'm really happy for his link up play for the goal at Norwich and his speculative back heel but id probably be happier knowing that he didn't fail it 100 times before it came off

Couldn't agree more.
Your first team going forward (like ours) is scary.
But when you lose a single key player, everything can fall apart.

I'm not saying a new striker is the solution to everything, but you need somebody with flair, somebody that can score a goal from nothing, a striker that can win you a game when you're playing badly.
Giroud can do none of those things.

I wouldn't be down heartened though; you definitely aren't far away from a title winning squad (srs).

Doubt many players outside England have tbh  Who's going to choose to play under some unknown when there is Wenger, Mourinho, Van Gaal etc? This has Spurs 2013 written all over it.

Disagree.

Spurs had one player capable of winning games. Suarez wasn't even their main game winner last season, even if he was pretty influential. Sturridge was a bigger game winner than Suarez last season.

Nope giroud replaced rvp, podolski replaced gervinho and cazorla put rosicky to the bench. Simple as that. Dress it up however you want but that's what happened

The **** you've endured? Try supporting a non-huge club. My club has a current squad size of about 12, has just been sent down to League One via a penalty awarded for a dive, and all our players are free to leave for nothing due to a relegation clause in their contract.

And we've just been taken over by Louis Tomlinson.

"The **** I've endured"... From an Arsenal fan... Sigh.

Condolences. You lot have come a long way from one Gilberto run from knocking us out of the league cup. No football fan should have to endure been associated with a that annoying prick. But we've got Pier Morgan.......

Like I said, it's too complex for you to grasp. But it's okay. It really is.

No it's just you trying to turn something simple in to something more complex.

Credentials to play for Arsenal? 22 goals and 9 assists sound decent enough to me. I don't think Giroud should lead the line for us as our main striker he's rotation and an alternative option upfront.

We've used 4-4-2 this season when Ozil was in the team, most notably the FA Cup final. Wenger brought on Sanogo for Poldi. Ozil was shifted to the left and then we played 4-4-2 that where Ozil fit in. As we've seen with Germany Ozil can play on the left or right.

Fair enough Giroud said that in Jan, he gave justification for that Theo could help out, How was he suppose to know Theo was going to get injured.

I agree Giroud isn't clinical but the problems we faced in those games went beyond Giroud. Our midfield and defence was poor. More often or not Giroud flicks come off

It's like when Torres got 20 goals 2 years ago he was still ****. Judge with your eyes. The level of striker we should have gets 35-40 goals last year not 22. The danger with this 22 goals 9 assists is decent enough statistic is it doesn't tell you just how **** he's been out on the pitch and how he can consistently have 5-6 games of utter ****. Also the fact he can't perform at all vs any competent opposition.

Also ozil can't play on the left or right of a 4-4-2 consistently. He's a liability defensively and barely even affects the game.

Don't be naive giroud purely said theo can help to look out for himself because theo is always going to start on the right.

More often than not his flicks don't come off don't kid yourself his pass completion is ****ing awful especially in the final 3rd
I don't think people were blaming giroud for the team conceding 5+ goals but for not being prolific in front of goal. Look at Liverpool..

**** defence but it didnt matter because their attack was sooo good the opposition barely had time to attack their defence meaning they could just out score their opponents. Ideally if we had a striker like Suarez we could of brought the games back a bit but because we were not potent in attack we kept getting screwed when defenesif and lookin limp as **** when attacking meaning opposition teams could just play a high line and push up.

Yes he clearly is rvps replacement. How anyone could argue that simple logic is beyond me.

No he doesn't do it where it matters. 3 goals in 18 big games :-)

Constant loss of possession

Constant missing of chances

Absolutely awful pass completion rate in the final third

Regularly messes attacks up

Always gets dispossessed

The one attacking stat you picked he wins on by about 2 key passes with 1000 minutes played more than the other two

A nice graph to show the downgrade :-)

You got a problem with my post brah?
Ross Mccormack is going to Fulham for £11m. £10m for Giroud was an absolute steal in comparison even if he isn't quite the standard we need to be on top again.
What the **** is a Ross Mcormack :lolwut:
