What career do you intend to go into and why?

I'm considering a number of jobs post-Uni, most of them are all related to business in some way:
The ultimate end goal for me is to become a CEO of a large tech company (either my own or someone else's) then a Partner at a VC firm.

This is really long because I'm very career focused - I even have a life plan for when I start working!

Career

- Strategy Consulting at MBB
- Investment Banking in a TMT(Tech, Media and Telecoms) coverage group within IBD
- Product Management at a large tech firm (I.e. Google, Facebook, Microsoft)

Reasoning
- Consulting: Love the travelling aspect; it's possible to get a reimbursed ticket to a destination of your choice on weekends. The exposure to C-level management, the variety of projects, and the salary's not half bad! Amazing exit opportunities!

- Banking: Learning the fundamentals of business, client exposure, working on really high-level deals, opportunity to move into Private Equity and of course the fantastic pay.

- Product Management: You are effectively the CEO of a specific product, you oversee everything from sales to the development of the product. Getting to liasewith all members of the product team and you have clout with senior level executives.

Plan
I'm currently running my own web development studio, getting in contact with people who work in the above careers, planning to do an internship within a startup and/or a bank in the next year, investing my own cash (making some decent returns as well!)

I'll be applying for Uni courses in Computer Science and Electronics this autumn, gap year schemes and hopefully starting a second company.

At Uni, I'm hoping to do some spring weeks in IB, try to get an internship at either an IB or a consultancy and finally decide which of the three to pursue for graduate roles.

Of course nothing is set in stone, but my 'dream' would be ultimately to pursue a career in diplomacy or journalism, working as a foreign correspondent for an organisation such as the BBC. Definitely a job where I would have the opportunity to travel and see more of the world. It sounds corny and so worn out, but I do believe a career like that would be genuinely exciting, rewarding and dynamic.

I'm kind of intrigued by it I suppose. Is it sort of like rounders? I quite like rounders.

I'm not sure what career I'd like to go into, but here are my ideas: private jet pilot, GP, showing people around houses, primary school teacher or writing articles in magazine. I'd like something very well-paid, but something interesting that I enjoy doing.

After many years of uncertainty and debate, I dediced on going into the medical field. I'm thinking being a general/ family practitioner since I love helping people, I'm always studying the bodies and how to keep people healthy, and I'm always the white mage no matter what game I play...

I can't wait to become a teacher. I'm starting my A-Levels this year and I will finish them when I am 18. Them I am going to Wolverhampton University to do a BEd course for 3 years so I will finish at 21. And hopefully I will start teaching a year later at 22. In the meanwhile I would be applying to do cover work to gain experience.

I see that expat itch hasn't subsided!

That's such a good plan. What age groups are you planning to teach?

in general, I want to teach in Key Stage 2. Explanation: In my opinion it will be more fun and less stressful than teaching in secondary school yet it is payed exactly the same. Also, I did consider teaching below in KS1 or nursery but I think I will be able to enjoy work in KS2 because you actually teach people properly.

I understand what you mean. Secondary school kids can be much more rebellious and KS1 kids can become bored ever so quickly; KS2 certainly does seem like the best choice. For me, young kids are also a pleasure to be around.

I know it's primary school, but what year groups does KS2 include?

Year 3 - Year 6 so about 8-12 roughly. I'd consider going into teaching Science or French too. I'd like to teach French in KS3, just below GCSE. I think it would be easy and quite enjoyable. I wouldn't mind teaching Science at GCSE. I'm doing Human Biology at at A-Level and I enjoyed Biology at GCSE but if I was to teach GCSE Science I'd have to teach the other 2 sciences and I don't think I'd be able to. Please tell me what you think
