Edexcel, AQA, OCR

For GCSEs , are these the main examination boards in England?
Do schools in England normally use just one or is it possible for a school to use multiple exam boards?
Does anyone know if any of these exam boards cover greater parts of English schools than others. ie AQA 40%, Edexcel 40%, OCR 20%?

They are indeed the three main exam boards in England, although there are others used less frequently too. Usually, the exam board will depend on the department, and so a number of exam boards will be used across the school. So your final question would vary by subject as well as by school.

No exam boards specifically cover different parts of England, most schools just choose whichever one they want. The reason a lot of schools do different ones is because either only one specific exam board covers the subject or because they choose whichever exam board has the cheapest fees for their exams, which can vary from subject. Some also try to choose whichever exam board they think is the easiest to pass for that specific subject.
