I don't support depth at the cost of overpaying though. If we sign sanchez can we afford a rb, cm and striker?
Well if it's a choice between overpaying for quality players or underpaying for dross what would you choose? We've been promised that we can compete with the elite for years and finally there is some evidence that the club are delivering on that promise. No more **** signings like Andre Santos and Chamakh. Those signings made the club a laughing stock. The clubs we are aiming to compete for the league with are all paying huge sums for players. Value for money doesn't seem to be a deciding factor. At some point you have to accept that fact and do the same.
Where do you get your enjoyment from supporting Arsenal as you seem to be critical about pretty much everything the club does.. Genuine question?

And playing Ozil as a false 9 will enable us to play Wilshere and Ramsey centrally, both of whom are able to run beyond Ozil.
Wilshere DM OX Ramsey Sanchez Ozil
Somewhat similar to City if their strikers were injured:
Fernandinho Fernando Navas Toure Nasri Silva
With Fernando holding, whilst Fernandinho and Toure make runs beyond Silva.
I said the aforementioned players could replace Walcott on the wing, not up front.
Can sanchez play on the left? Will he even want to especially in a system with a false 9?
Can ozil play that role? Nothing I've seen of him would suggest this system would work sanchez/ox/rosicky/podolski aren't players who are going to consistently look to run in behind/stretch the game
I also have absolutely no faith in jacky wilsha. Why does he sit on the ground every time he's tackled it's so ****ing frustrating watching him time and time again do a pathetic dribble attempt then sit on the floor whilst we get countered

He's right-footed - so having him cutting in from the left would lead to more chances.

Sanchez, OX and Rosicky don't run behind/stretch the game?

The vast majority of Arsenal fans had even less faith in Ramsey prior to last season.
For the same reasons Robben, Ribery, Ronaldo and Bale cut inside.
Call up his former managers and ask them.
His games never been based around running in behind he's had to sacrifice himself in that regard for messi at barca and was the reason he was so poor. I don't think you've watched him at all.
Sanchez's skillset is nothing like Ronaldo, Riberys, Robben or Ronaldo's luckily you aren't a manager xD
Ox you could say might work in a false 9 system at a push even then his runs in behind are nowhere near to the level required or consistent enough. ( Walcott would fit the system perfectly funnily enough and everyone would agree he's a unique player in arsenals team)
Sigh another guy who talks out his arse the last thing we need in here
Even with Walcott injured, we can play the OX there, or Rosicky, or Gnabry, or even Poldi and have him cut in and use his hammer of a left foot.
Would you be content with Sanchez, Remy, Debuchy, DM, CB if Verm leaves, and a GK?
Sanchez does not play as a lone striker for Chile. He's a supporting forward for them while Edu Vargas or Pinilla is the striker.
That false 9 system is ridiculous as said already neither wingers look to run in behind defences, they are more creative. Ox has time on his side to learn how to make runs to stretch defences, but Sanchez is unlikely to adapt his game to that. He looked poor for Barca because of this. Last season he was getting more touches of the ball rather than just supporting Messi so he did better.
That false 9 system will not work and I can guarantee that Wenger will not use that system once this season. He'll rather play Sanogo if Giroud gets injured or Walcott when he becomes fit.

1st bit, they don't.
Bale, Ribery, Robben and Ronaldo are much more direct than the likes of Sanchez and Rosicky and look to make runs behind defences, they are good at long range shooting. Although Ribery is the closest person to Sanchez on this list they are different players.
Absolutely love how players are immediately downgraded once they join Arsenal. The revisionism is brilliantly creative
No downgrading to Sanchez. I've made my feelings about Sanchez and Ozil pretty clear for the past year or so, even before Arsenal were linked with him.
If you got Di Maria last year or even a Pedro e.g. I would have had no complaints whatsoever. Been saying that for over a year now. Sanchez like Ozil is an upgrade on what you have, but not necessarily what you need for that position. Personally Pedro would have been the better option.
Sanchez does have a high workrate which you guys have been lacking with having Ozil and Cazorla in the same team.
It could, in a 433 and preferably with Walcott and not Ox on the wing. Would be similar to how Martino used Cesc and Alexis, which was the system that helped him improve his scoring numbers. Özil would drop deeper and roam around more, similar to Cesc, which leaves space in the middle for Alexis to roam into and to get into scoring positions.

A true winger as such would perhaps be a better option, but Pedro? I don't get why Alexis tends to get downplayed due to his poor numbers, but Pedro gets so much recognition on here (not necessarily adressing you here) when his numbers aren't better even though he was played on his preferred position while Alexis wasn't. And while Pedro runs up and down the flank more than Alexis does, he's mainly a threat when not having to provide width/stretch play, just like Alexis, so I don't see much of an improvement in having him over an arguably much better albeit different player like Alexis.
